Prince by the Decades (70s/80s/90s/00s) Prince is now 50 years old; I think we can start to look at his legacy and how he will be remembered once he retires or passes on long in the future. And there is only one year remaining this decade, a decade that has seen Prince release less commercially recorded music than in those previous, stage a major commercial "comeback" in the United States, and, so it seems, achieve something of a stable personal personal life -- all things that seemed unlikely 10 years ago.
So, let's break it down to decades. Discuss how good/bad he was in each decade of his recording/performing career, and rank them against each other. I think 95% of us will agree that he was at his peak in the 80s, but some may disagree. Most interesting might be ranking the 90s against the 00s -- which decade was better for Prince?

It would be easy 2 say that the success of "Purple Rain," was the highlight of the 80's for Prince...However, I honestly believe that Prince's level of happiness would determine the truth behind this question.
If we look at every decade as built on the decade before...I can only believe that the 00's will have a matured, relaxed, well rehearsed and groomed entertainer 2 offer the music industry what is in Prince's heart 2 release. The challenges that have been around Prince that we know of are the very issue of expressing your art...and let the love and appreciation or lack of, fall where it may. Being true to Ur gift and the way U want to share that gift is where the success is. "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...
