I think it got written especially for him or the song got tailored for him. Minding that Prince delivered three other songs for Tevin's "I'm Ready album AND the fact it mentions homework. | |

I was just putzing around on a site,and listening to music on there,and this song came on,at first I thought it was Prince,but it was Tevin. I did'nt know that he sang it,but it does make more sense him singing it. Yeah, Shhh is one of those songs Prince took BACK, after handing it out to another artist first. He did that with Nothing Compares 2 U and he could not part with Love... Thy Will Be Done either. [Edited 11/26/08 0:49am] | |

i love the joke  said during a concert at the glam slam in minneapolis
"sorry it took me so long. i was on the phone with tevin campbell. he told me 2 stop doing 'his' song. i said FUCK YOU!" and then he launched right in2 the song. afterwards he said "tevin we love u" man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81 | |

Prince version of the song just kicks Kevin's attempt...maybe becasue his voice is so child like that it's irritating to my ears....I could not believe he gave this song to him...didn't Tevin just grow his pubic hair when this came out...I mean really.

one of my faves..i always associate this song with prince, although no matter how hard he tries, he can't do it justice without her imo i'm gonna enjoy prince singing shhh while he can...this song frantic with lust, but it's got shelf life the homework lyric getting a bit disturbing | |
