Liked it when it first came out. Sounds boring to me now.

Instead of it "growing" on me like many Prince songs do, I guess this one died on me. confused

I prefer Manowar on this CD. GREAT track!
The public is squeezin' you kiddo. You'd better kick ass on your next album or else!

In a word: BEAUTIFUL mushy

The track overall is very pleasing to the ear.
The lyrics are great, my favorite being the start of the 2nd verse: now that ur mind is open 2 poetry seldom heard
The music all around makes for great R&B

The video for this song is great, the first time I heard it was watching this video. Very well-done nod
had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

There's a special place in my heart for this song.

I first heard it in a cafe in Pisa Italy when it was just released. I stood there in this tiny corner cafe, drinking my first cappucino ever,on vacation, when "Greatest Romance" came over the radio speakers. As a longtime Prince fan I was officially in heaven.

"can you tell me the re-ye-ye-ye-ye-yeson the reason ever left eve..." music

tho i like the song..still was a bad choice 4 a lead off single imo
man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81
