It illustrates that Prince is an idiot for allowing shit to be made up because he refuses to be recorded lol

He refuses to let the interviews be tape recorded because they have been put out on the market and sold. I am really surprised some of you do not know this.
I know this because I own one of the interviews from the "Dirty Mind" period

This is not the reason he doesn't allow the interviews to be tape recorded. Respectable journalists do not sell their taped interviews for bootlegs. I doubt he was concerned that his New Yorker interview was going to be sold to bootleggers.

Especially. An established journalist working for such a reputable publication wouldn't risk her credibility or her organization's that way.

I find the whole thing suspicious to be frank. I can understand the no tape recorder, but not the ban on note-taking - that's like a disservice to himself since by definition, it would mean that he is extremely likely to be misquoted. No matter how fast you write, it's impossible to remember everything with 100% accuracy.

The reporter's lax standards, and by extension, the New Yorker's, are very suspicious too imo.

Rockability

Great article. You don't read how nuts the man is because it seems he has tried to censor writers from revealing his wacky words. Interesting how his fascist behavior dates back all the way to the 80s. Hmmmm.
