he needs 2 put out a critically acclaimed album again. Prince was nominated in 85 and 88 ... lost both times. will this ever happen?

rusty u so want it 2 b that prince is back on top like it was 4 the 80's. i'm not doubting that it could happen that he releases a album that catches the academy's attention, with that being said, it won't sell like 10 million copies.

I think he might one day win Album of the Year actually...who would have thought Herbie Hancock would win an Album of the Year Grammy in 2008? Or Steely Dan a few years ago? Prince was criminally overlooked during his 80s heyday, and they've been trying to make up for that in recent years. He's won more Grammys in the last 4 years than he had in his entire career before that. He could release a jazzy album with some brilliant musicianship one day that will snag him the big award. Remember, N.E.W.S. was nominated for a Grammy...

I don't think it matters much, but it's conceivable he could win one day as a belated "thanks for being awesome for decades" career achievement award.

I never will forget the look Prince had on his face when U2 won the Grammy for Best Album in 1988. Prince did not show up again until much later.

The Grammy in 2008/09 is different than it was in the 80's. It seems the artist that will win the award will be the artist with the best record deal.

The "Music" companies have more to do winning the awards than the actual songs/cds/artists.

Yeah, anything can happen I suppose. It would be nice for Prince to cap a long career with another acclaimed album. I agree that he doesn’t care anymore.

He lost out on awards in the 90s also (definitley should of got 1 for TMBGW) It just shows what arse-holes they are. I mean in the 90s when he was "Symbol" the fuckers didnt even bother with his material. Now that hes "Prince" again there all acting as if he died and came bck I mean seriously I thought music came before anything else in the minds of the academy. But I was soooo fucking wrong for them twats of satan, its all about image. I seriously dnt care if he ever gets 1 cuz I know his music is amazing and out of this world and Prince dnt need no shitty grammy award 2 certifie that in my mind.....thats what I think....and what I think 2 me is really all that matters

I think that it is very possible but he would need better push with that particular album with another performance on something like he did with the SuperBowl but then who thought he would turn the SuperBowl out like he did. Me but all of my friends who aren't fans were blown away and I just said "Told U So"!!!
