I saw today Planet Earth on a bargin bin here in Portugal.... I went today to buy a cool leather cover for my iPod. I did the usual pelgrimage through all the records shops I passed...and I saw Planet Earth twice in discount and once in a bargin bin!
I was like "WTF!..." Just came to the conclusion that: or I must one of the few portuguese who buy prince's music or the album was forgotten...

Well, it was given away for free in a UK newspaper and with every UK concert ticket in 2007, and it's now available for next to nothing as a result on Ebay, so I doubt most people are going to pay full price for it. I'm from Sweden and I'm probably one of the few who buys his music here. And then it comes down to: do people not buy his music because their taste is inferior or because taste is relative? And my conlusion when it comes to musical taste is that mostly it's just a matter of taste based on music cultural history in respective country, with some exceptions (there is some crappy music out there). But of course from a personal perspective, I would've loved if more people dug Prince.

Yeah. I'm with langebleu. When I started shopping for Prince albums to backfill my collection, I kept seeing Planet Earth for 1-3 USD. I bought my copy for 3 USD still factory sealed. The biggest local record store near me was selling used copies for 11 USD... pfffff
Got mine on-line for the cheap. After reading scathing reviews here and elsewhere I was determined to get it as cheap as possible in case I hated it.

I've got about 6 copies lying around my house!! I found one lying on the beer soaked floor after an aftershow and retrieved it, because I thought it seemed a bit disrespectful! I can't imagine anyone having to PAY for it, that's a bit naughty even in a bargain bin! But, we were lucky in London I suppose. And.....I LOVE Portugal, I miss it so much.....
