For You Is this some of Prince's best falsetto singing or what??

I like a few songs on the album.
Overall I thought Prince hadn't fully escaped from the 'disco' sound with this album. It was a great first effort but gave little indication of the truly brilliant stuff he was going to release. Most of the songs on this album are about vaginas. Prince was absolutely obsessed with them during this point in his career. | |

Best falsetto? Imho this was the beginning of a rose blooming, and yet alert to its prickley thorns. Innocent, multi-talented, young, fresh and vibrant with so much potential that even his scent could be smelled far beyond Minnapolis. Yeah, I enjoyed his beat even back then. Ole  lol. | |

I love the photo on the inner sleeve showing him buck naked behind the huge guitar and the creepy looking bed and semi circular window in the background.
Otherwise as far as music goes, its ok for a first album, theres no classics here, but theres no filler either. Each song introduces a different facet and introduction to some part of his potential. The best song is easily In Love, and I do love that funk romp in Just as long as were together, I also think I'm yours is pretty good as well and Soft and Wet is a great precursor to "I wanna be your lover" off his second album. 17 Years ago I made a commitment to Prince | |
