jehovahs witnesses twist the bible better than most.

they misquote all the time.

if your studing with a witness than use the internet.. ask the hard questions..

there should be nothing you can't ask..

don't believe them... the "world" is not full of evil wicked people..

live your life.. not some us VS them nonsense...

its a CULT..

use the internet..

the truth should be able to be examined.....

dont take no for an answer..

your making that all wrong, for a start JWs are not a cult in most countries they are actally registed as a RELIGION, also cult means you follow a human leader which the witnesses dont because they follow Jehovah and Jesus. If you are studying with the witnesses weldone, because there the nicest bunch of people ive ever met!

I have...sorta. It was a former JW. In the course of the conversation, I started to ask about it, and he didn't know that Prince had converted. I started talking about what Prince says about the Akashic Records on the Rainbow Children, and was promptly corrected, "JW's don't practice this."

The founder of the Jehovah's Witness is Charles Taze Russell. Therefore, it is a man made religion. I agree with judgerutherford that you should research it.

I'm not one to be quick to judge someone because of their religion, but being a crazy Prince fan and seein how he's so caught up in it, I decided to do research on the Jehovah Witness religion, especially their basis, and from what I've read and seen, their foundation is mostly man-made and tainted. They follow some of the the Bible's teaching but have tampered with and changed some parts. U tube has ALOT of old videos on the foundation of it, plus other books etc.

At times I feel sry for those that are sincerely seeking truth and get misled. I believe Prince has always tried to find truth and foundation where God is concerned or he wouldn't have had his foot in spirituality for all these yrs. He should prolly look at other versions of Bibles etc. I wonder if he even did research on JW before he joined hmmm sigh

Religionatics need to remember that God is much more than just religion, He's just a fraction of it (cause He should be the foundation of any religion anyway) and God is and always will be bigger than a religion.

I'll urge ppl to do thorough research on a religion before they join. Also try to (if u believe the Bible), try to get one that's closest to the translation from the language that were/are used in those countries. If u can't...oh well...God knows your heart smile

yes that is true they found it, but it doesnt mean that the JW's follow them. If they did they wouldnt look upto God for a start and would acknowleage russell and rutherford in everything they do which they do not.

our Accountant is a JW and is very critical of 'all that dancing and celebrating on stage and on videos'. If ever there was a sect that didn't suit him this has to be it!. Just be grateful he ain't into sceintology like Beck and the rest of them.

Yes, I went to several meetings at KINGDOM HALLS and spoke to other WITNESS' and they DO NOT THINK HE is a TRUE BELIEVER and they said HE WAS GAY. They weren't into his NEW LYRICS either or the fact that his PROTEGEES sing about COMING. or PROMISCUOUS SEX. I didn't like what they said and I found the RELIGION to be FEAR BASED. But some HEALTH TOPICS were GOOD to FOLLOW. I PRAY PRINCE LEAVES the RELIGION and STOPS GIVING them MONEY and goes back to METHODIST or SEVENTH DAY ADVENTIST. He should go back to the RELIGION he was BORN INTO.

Bold yes. Commanding NO. DOMINANT YES!!!! CONTROLLED YES...RIGHT...YES... AND I"M telling the Truth about what the JWS told me. I went to the KINGDOM HALL a few times and an ELDER did tell me this about PRINCE and some girls I spoke to said that he DIDN'T REPRESENT THE JWS VIEWPOINTS COMPLETELY. Just telling you the TRUTH. And since I will ALWAYS LOVE PRINCE I would NEVER JOIN a RELIGION that really doesn't Care about him just his MONEY that he CONTRIBUTES.

It's not just the JWS that's after your money. Look at the other religions and that Kabbalah and Scientology, the biggest cult for the stars. Being saved is a relationship and that's what pure religion is. Similar to JayJai's comment.

Last year I dated a JW. When he found out I was a Prince fan, and I told him Prince is JW, he said, "He's not a real JW." He was not open to anything I had to say regarding Prince. As far as he was concerned, Prince is just "playing" and he considered it offensive.

That's pretty much the same position taken by the Witnesses I know and have otherwise encountered in RL. They say he's "playing" at being a Witness; don't think he's playing by the rules; think he's being allowed to get away with a lot that others would be reprimanded for.

I can't tell what every Witness thinks on the matter, if they have an opinion at all, but the ones I have spoken to are very much in the "nay" column in regards Princey. shrug

The JWS are upholding the traditions and ideas of a heretic. He's no different than those heretic televangelist that you see on TBN. Same game, different day, a cult. That's why we must follow Him in truth and in spirit.

Quite a serious thread this now.

I was happy with Prince to follow what he feels is right at first, as long as it didn't impact his art. But it is seeping into his music more and more, examples, The majority of his recent output, 3121 'Planet Earth' and now 'Colonized Mind' as a taster for one of his upcoming albums.

The music is fine, but i do not wish to be talked down to by somebody who can't gather the courage to even buy milk in his local store. he knows little of the real world.

What's worse is Prince's creativity is being stifled and he is limited about what he can write about by this so-called religion.

There's no doubt, if he can't walk down the street no more as he stated on 'Indigo Nights', he sure isn't knocking door to door regularly as he's supposed to. So he's doing what is expected of him by the JW's, Preaching, but only thru his music.

And i'm not really down with that.

Does Larry Graham still show up occasionally at P's shows? I remember him walking thru the crowd in Brixton in 1998 with his bass (and, i'll admit, it was great), i'd invite him to come do that again to see what reaction he gets next time round.
