I was not surprised by the interview one bit. Come on? How could he support gay rights and still be a JW.

I'll always be an 80s Prince "music" fan. But I won't be buying any of his new stuff. I think I probably heard Planet Earth a half-dozen times and both 3121 and Musicology never got another spin after the first couple of months. And even though he got rave reviews for his Coachella performance, it was actually kind of boring for me. I've seen so many other Prince shows that were so much more exciting. There was nothing fresh at all. It was by the numbers Prince.

So with both live shows and any new CDs I'll be curious but I won't be going out of my way to support it. I just don't care anymore. And the whole 21 Nights book thing came and went. Is it even out yet? I read on here that there would be a CD included but no one's really talked about it. Have they? Who knows.

1) I find it unfortunate that anyone still follow a book that was written thousands of years ago, let alone, take it literally. Really?

2) Let it go. One reason it seems that Prince stays out of the public eye is because he wants people to appreciate the music, not the hype of who's dating who, or who entered what drug rehab center. So, as real Prince fans, shouldn't we at least attempt to take this into considerations?

Personally, this is my response to the comment: So what?! Prince puts out awesome music and honestly, I don't care what the hell he does in his personal time. As long as he's putting out good music, I'm a fan. And even if he stops... I've got a shit ton of music to fall back on. I really don't care what his personal views are, and why should anyone else? Live and let live, right? Our attitudes, values and beliefs make just as much sense to us as Prince's do to him. Let it go.

My signature says it all, plus I'm a Christian too but I DON'T subscribe to the JW way. This doesn't phase me at all but I'm here for the music, as I've always been. As long as it's funky, I'll always be here.

Prince can spout on about vague, self righteous bullshit all he wants. It's his right. But he should also come clean about this interview instead of having a few others do damage control. "mean what you say,say what you mean."
I'd have more respect for him if he came forth and made it clear where he stands on this issue (though it's obvious).

Seriously tho ive always wondered, U know that sayin "nothing is what it seems" Its seems religous people live there lifes by 2000 year old books I have always said religion is the devil and people hide behind its "love and Peace" messages 4 authority and power, which they abuse for there own selfsih and sick purposes (like the vatican) kinda 2 keep the poor man down soughta thang, I do believe there is a god ...but I dont think any religion is 100% right and with there "self rightous" selfs they seem 2 do more evil than good (wars etc)It is these people who judge others that may not believe the same as they do and point the finger...that are truly going to hell

I am gay and I will still listen to, support and admired Prince no matter what religion he hides behind. The fact remains is people still think hes gay because of his alleged feminine side, high voice and petite stature, his obsession with neatness also leads to some deluded stereotype hes gay. Well every book I read about him, he comes across as a real lady killer and a chauvenistic pig who treats women like shit. Whereas on the other side theres no real evidence hes gay (what about a photo, video or a testament from a lover thats other than some crack whore desparate for money).
Until then I could not give a fuck wether hes gay or straight or even if he wants us all to burn up in a fiery pit. The fact he can't deny is his music and style has always appealed to gay people wether he likes it or not.

I always think that Prince contradicts himself anyway..

One minute he's all '21 positions in a one night stand...'

The next minute he's 'What goes on inside your head that makes you want to take them all to bed..'

Prince seems to contradict himself more than any other musician I know.

I don't think Prince even knows what his own opinion is.

One minute he says 'You don't have to be beautiful to turn me on..'

The next minute he says 'Could you be the most beautiful girl in the world..'

Come on Prince, do you want us for our minds or our body and looks!?

I don't think Prince is really trying to please the JWs, I think he believes what he says. I have known Prince to say a lot of kooky stuff in the past, but I always believe that he believes what he says, whether no one else does or not.

We find it hard to believe that Prince says anything attached to sex that would have limits or boundaries due to the music he has written in the past. But people change... they grow... and things that they once felt was okay, they see in a different light. This happens to all of us, or at least it should.

Don't forget, he is just a man. He has values and beliefs just like the rest of us.
