I once started one or two threads about this, there were quite a lot of responses.
Maybe you can still find them. No, it´s not a real Purple Rain track per se, it´s more or less Prince ad-libbing and improvising over the melody of Purple Rain, and the lyrics or adlibs contain a few elements from Another Lonely Christmas ( "....remember the time we swam naked in your father´s pool?" etc.) Great track, though. Some of Prince´s old rehearsal improvisations , with all the hiss and noise in the background, still sound much better than a lot of his current material.I love the magic and the atmosphere of those old rehearsals. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?" | |

Yep, it's a 1984 outtake, simply improvising over the basic Purple Rain harmonies.
