Prince & charity Prince is into charity, right? Well couldn't he help a brotha out a lil bit - invite TTD to the 2003 Celebration & let him see what it's like to be backed by a REAL band??? Show him how it's DONE??! 
Admittedly, I'm talking out of my ass (which ain't new)  but I'm "hearing" TTD's band is SUCKING, adequate @ best. Such a shame considering how beautiful the man's voice is.
With most of us being spoiled w/ the luxury of Prince's SUPER-TIGHT band on the ONA tour, a band that KICKS ASS ALL DAY LONG, how can we possibly sit by & let this crime go on?  It's outrageous!  I feel sorry for TTD - am I alone here?? 
PRINCE, SHARE THE WEALTH!!! Get that boy to the Celebration already!!!  Please???

The man's voice is certainly beautiful...if a little too limited for my taste. If things eventually go pear-shaped for TTD, at least he could do cover versions of Sam Cooke songs forevermore.

Darby's vocal style reminds me more of badass Otis Redding anyway. Gruff enough for a juke joint raise the roof party, and smooth enough to sing "Try A Little Tenderness." This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes. | |

Exhibit A: from the "Concerts" forum, "TTD in London" thread...

I noticed it was down at the bottom of the pile and couldn't let it go out like that...although I haven't kept up with TTD in years and have no idea what he's up to lately, except for the Wildcard album. Good lookin' out Whenever I FINALLY get around to making some compilations I could send you a "best of" if you like, he has some kickass songs on Symphony or Damn & Vibrator...
