This is what Prince should remember.

Prince can and has been a total shit. There is no question about this. I wish I could walk away from him and forget my fanatic following of his every move that has plagued me since 1982. The first album I ever bought was Dirty Mind at the tender age of 8 years old and I have bought every release (or at least got a copy until I could afford it) and every magazine published containing an article about the man since then (Until the internet made being a fan much easier and cheaper).

I think the way he is currently running the NPGMC is nothing short of proposterous. Almost his entire reputation and business is now based upon the few die hard fans that are left and the friends and family who are either dragged along to concerts at their behest, or muso types (like myself) who have a deep respect of the mans talents because of the latent genius in some (I repeat, some of his music) who buy his CD's off of the back of that respect.

I get sick of the rip-offs, lies, half truths, broken promises, manic egoism, and general disrespect for the very people upon whom he relies both for his financial existence and the buzz of being a well respected and loved musician that he must get from performance. In short, he gets right on my tits.

However, his music has provided me with a soundtrack to my life. Each album represents a bench-mark in my life and my own musical career as a Producer. His music has made me dance, cry, provided me with elation, sexy tunes to make love to and pissed off my parents with lyrics that were considered questionable by them. It has also left me having to defend the guy because of his stupid mistakes, the relentless attempts to copy other artists styles in the 90's in a fruitless attempt to reach the same levels of success reached in the Purple Rain era etc etc etc.

He has cost me a fortune over the years in one way or another but I for one would like to thank Prince for making my own little world a better place. I would also like to say to him, 'Stop acting like a total Twat and start treating your friends with the respect they deserve before you loose them forever'!

i couldn't have said it any better! It would be a terrible loss if, due to his poor business management and self involved ways, we were to lose Prince's music altogether. You can't keep burning your bridges. But it is a hard decsion to keep supporting him or keep our self respect.
