PrintableThere are so many incredibly talented and important artists. But what makes Prince the greatest artist/musician to me, is not only his creativity, but also the way his music makes me feel. What kind of emotions it evokes in me. No other musician speaks to my soul like that. And that is why he's no1.
This is obviously different from person to person. To some Prince is total crap, some find him to be average, and some consider him being a genius. Depends on how you tick. | |

Well, if u compare Prince´s skills (knowledge, technique, etc) with guys like John Mc Laughlin, Jaco Pastorius and Dennis Chambers, yes, he is not as fluent on these instruments as those guys.
But Gary Moore? He is very good, but Prince is on the same level on guitar, IMO. And more versatile. Anyway, the genius of Prince is to be such a great musician, arranger, producer AND songwriter (there are lots of very skilled musicians that will never write a great song). |

...prince help raise funk.....that's his roots as music goes....the bass...the guitar rocking...you have to feel the notes...in 1978...prince came out as a professional....he had his army...his backups...his boys...his own p-funk nation...prince can blow your mind away with his playing...he knows music inside/out...i love to look at his notes...the arrangement...the way they flow on the scales.....the piano...guitar....bass...drums....ect....the guitar part is the headliner.....and prince loves his guitar....in the words of his boy mr.g. cilnton....****free your mind....and your azz will follow.....
