Something to think about, especially as you are a self-described "new" fan, is how you might listen to Crystal Ball.

I think it's more fun if you're already very familiar with all of Prince's albums before 1998.

Reading through the booklet will give you details on a track as you are listening to it. Sometimes you may not like the track. For example, I think 18 & Over is a different version of Come... not exactly to my liking but interesting nonetheless. If something is described from a certain date you can remember the period of his music and keep that in mind as you listen to the track. It's kind of like exploring your fandom... perhaps even in an intellectual way.

At least, this what I'm doing and it's pretty fun.

Go easy on the man. I have been a member of the Org, for a few years now. There are still certain things that I don't have and would like some opinions on it. A good example would be "Come". I wanted it, but wasn't sure about it. I came here and everyone had a different take on it. I ended up not getting, mainly due to me NOT feeling comfortable with everyone's thoughts on it.

Actually man, I must say ive only been a fan for a few years and i think "newer" fans have a completely diffrent view on P,s music than teh older ones and I 2 wasnt 2 sure about buying Come, However I seen it in HMV in the 2 for £10 sale, I brought that and Diomands and Pearls and no-1 can deny that Come dosent seem 2 have dated very much....when you compare it 2 the rest of his 90s output and that includes Symbol, Diomands and Pearls, TGE, Emancipation. Atfirst I didnt quite get its "dark and gloomy" feel apart from maybe the "Commercial Sounding" tracks (Come, Space,Pheromone,Race and Letitgo)
But I have 2 say it really is a brilliant album and would actually be in my top 5 easily nod

You better than me... I hate every track on that CD,except for "Space".

Anyone that can listen to "karmasutra" all the way through is the ultimate die-hard LOL. The excerpt on the "emancipation" disc was fine but thats it LOL.

"comeback" is one of my all time fav Prince songs though. Gorgeous.

Gosh all the people keep talking about Kamasutra and how bad it is and how nobody can listen to it and I'd just love to have an own opinion about it, but I can't get it nowhere. The copies sold on the internet are way too expensive, plus I have CB and Truth, so I'd throw the money out of the window.

Kamasutra is actually the last thing that's missing in my collection apart from Rave In2.. bored

Well, I dont know how much of a die-heard you are, but the album is just dull. Yes, a re-listen might be in order, but its just not interesting from what I remember.

Best thing about it, is the cute pic of Mayte on the CD.

[b]Right seriously ive just reliased, the Crystal Ball I ordered says its release date was 2001...but on wikipedia it says 1998 and mine has a diffrent case than the 1 released in 1998....the 1 ive ordered has a purple case with the title (crystal ball) with prince and the symbol on it and is all coloured purple and the 1 from 1998 just has crystal ball (within a purple crystal ball if that makes sense) with a white background... so is mine gonna be a copie? neutral thanks wink

No. Yours shouldn't be a copy. Don't freak out when the silk-screening on the disc reads "Bootleg" either. It's supposed to. I have the jewel case version (like you described).

S'all good.

Shhh... there there comfort

And from your list, it looks like you'll be in excellent shape to appreciate CB (at least in the way that I was describing).

Cheers!
