Prince will never die!! His legacy will last till the end of time. But when his time comes on this Earth, we will have truly lost Heaven on Earth. A person that's being made life worth living. The Ones who were lucky enough to witness Prince during thier lifetime and realize the genious-that will be not only recognized but studied way too late by the way, and will be envied by all who realized him for what he truly was, after the fact-unfortunately. He is a F-ing musical genious and has enriched my life in ways I cannot begin to explain. When Prince dies, a piece of my heart will die. He can't be copied or replaced and I will LOVE HIM until the day i die. Thank U Prince for sharing your gifts with the World-you made a differance that will take light years for people to come close to the realization of your being. I love you although I've never actually met u- I love you mind. Thank you. Devon from Chicago (I have u'r symbol tattooed on my back). O}:- Love Forever. By the way, play The Ladder all day if he dies in your lifetime, and in the meantime play everything else. We are blessed with his presence.

It's incredibly sad that the tail end of his career has turned out to be the polar opposite of what the majority of his career has been.

He was considered a legend, is an icon and changed music.

But the memories that will be fresh in people's minds?

Suing a mother over a baby dancing, rambling about religion, removing videos off youtube, releasing crappy albums and just generally being a stingy diva.

Instead of appreciating his old work and looking forward to new ways of breaking ground, we're all pissed off with him.

Nice work, Prince.

Imago

I doubt folks will say he was consumed by religion lol

I think in the end they'll just point out that he rose to fame, and then had a spotty career after that.

I think , if he's not a total douche-bag the next 15 years, he's still got it in him to release some interesting stuff.

Time is not on his side now though lol
I don't care if he doesn't believe in time, whoever's applying his cosmetics definitely does. lol

That he should have gone out with a BANG! blowup
Ending his Life/career with the ICON status that he deserves and not the religious nutter that made bad albums after waisting his talent.

The Media will show clips of Purple Rain. The End.

BUT for us it will be great! He is going to have new albums from all his unreleased material for 400 years!

a New Album every 2 years until 2400 cool

Maybe longer!

Sadly...it will be then and only then that the world even attempts to appreciate him as his fan base always has! Mofos will be crawling out of the woodwork, writing books and commentaries on the Life and Times of Prince Rogers Nelson.

For most...it'll just be another assignment to pick and choose over his life and write whatever they like. Only a few will do him justice, the rest will be all Pomp and Circumstance.

It will only be his fan base that will mourn him properly and ensure that his true legacy lives on.

Normally, I hate these threads with a passion but today, I felt something that needed to be said. shrug
I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

unfortunately Prince will have it written into his will that all unreleased songs in the vault be destroyed so no one can listen to them (or remix/remaster them) after his death - one final 2 finger salute to us all!

Funny....

I always wondered what is going to happen. He has no kids, no family (that's seems involved), no spouse, who is going to watch over (or destroy) everything?

this isnt a topic i would normally bite on, but, i think that P, along with madge and mj, r the last 'superstars' that music created, due 2 the net, satelite tv, paparazzi etc. removing the mystique and icon status of more recent stars, and as such i think that it will b a big deal when any of them xpire, and it's worth remembring that although mozart was recognised as a genius by his contempories and those around him, it was/is the passage of time that revealed the xtent and quality of his work 2 the wider world. i hope that the vault is preserved and is opened, as part of an xtended legacy and source of discussion and revelation 4 all, 4 years after he ends his personal journey. i think he would/should want this as a musician and an artist, he creates coz he has a gift, and if he didn't want 2 share that with others then he wouldn't release anything or play publicly.

A bit of a harsh question:

But, when he would die tomorrow or next week, the reaction will probably be.

In essence a very gifted musician, who unfortunately spoiled his possibilities with too much narcism, selfindulgence and diva-behaviour.

nah... that will only come from people who spend time on fansites. a few journalist may touch on his antics but overall the reaction people will come out of the woodwork praising his talent and musical impact.
