omfg Revenge is greedy. Mani wont stop until she's the richest b$$$$ in America.

I don't think this has anything to do with Mani.

It's just speculation. That's all.

Well, imo it's pretty clear the "speculation" is unfounded. I'm pretty confident that Gamillah/Altru is not affiliated with Revelations Perfume so I guess it would be time to come up with another theory.

Oooh, I have one. How about Prince (and Universal) didn't fulfill their end of the CONtract so Revelations is sueing for breach of contract? wink

spelling edit
[Edited 11/18/08 7:51am]

It's intersting to me that Universal is named in this suit. I would think their beef would be with Prince and not Universal (unless there was a deal to share the profits of the gift sets that contained the cd). I know they didn't think they would sell 100,000 bottles of perfume.

Besides, I don't know why Revelations would agree on a crazy deal like that with P without checking his track record. Though I'm a big P fan, I wouldn't do business with him without doing some research (Get Wild fragrance, low record sales, etc.). To do business with someone because u're a fan is not a good business practice. Prince would definitely have to sign the contract in blood that he would promote the fragrance for a certain period of time.

Did they produce television commercials to promote the fragrance? Hell, P should have been in last year's Macy's ad with Mariah, Tommy Hilfiger and others trying to sell his stuff.

No surprise. Prince has a knack for not keeping commitments, right Mayte?
he polled fans on where he should do his next run of concerts. and then no run of concerts.
no videos, then videos.
no singles, then singles.
no more old songs, then old songs in concert.
Any company should think twice before signing a contract with Prince. Prince puts the con in contract.
what happened to my lifetime membership in ngp music club? neither Prince nor I are dead yet.

Editor wins lawsuit against Prince

By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

LOS ANGELES - A judge has awarded nearly US$58,000 to a man who claims Prince failed to pay him for editing work and unreturned equipment.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Gregory Alarcon issued the judgment on Wednesday, after conducting a brief trial last month that included testimony from the video editor, Ian C. Lewis.

The judgment fell well short of the $1 million in exemplary damages that Lewis was seeking. Documents show Alarcon also denied Lewis' claim that Prince and his company broke a $25,000 computer because no receipts were provided.

Lewis sued Prince and his company, Paisley Park Enterprises, in October 2007.

Prince's lawyers withdrew from the case and he was not represented during the trial.

prince gets bored quick bottom line. by the time a new album comes out from the time he started creating it, it's about 6 months down the line and he's already on2 something else. the same with his business practices.

besides the launch party in london and that xpensive ass concerts he put on in new york, what promotion is he doing 4 his own book?

watch the book publishers will b next 2 sue his ass.

but this is his karma, last issue of the npg magazine, never happend.

lifetime membership 2 his fan club...fan club is gone...

so if ur thinking i will have any sympathy 4 his ass getting sued left and right after he has gone after his fans ..guess again ..SUE HIS ASS!!
man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Over-playing too many Hits at concerts might be a side effect leftover from 1995. He was played mostly new stuff, and he was criticized for choosing to do that.

I feel the same way. I would love a concert without ANY PR songs or Raspberry Beret. I know that's what the masses like, but I can do without those.

Of course, if he wants to sell seats, he has to do the hits. The masses wouldn't want to hear 3121 and The Everlasting Now at all.

My thing about P and the promotion of his perfume, he didn't do anything. I still don't understand why he didn't do some type of tour of malls where he would do an acoustic set of about 4 or 5 songs, shake a few hands and get people to buy the perfume. He could have also hit up all of the major cities across the country. Done a radio interview or two and that would have definitely counted for his promotion. Revelations (probably) would have been happy.

I still don't understand why there was not a sample of the sent in every cd. (or at least a small card advertising the sent). There were very few magazine ads (and I don't recall any of them having a sented page).

Hell, he could have even done a television commercial with Chelsea shaking her ass to "3121" and spraying the sent. ANYTHING!!!!

or how about doing what every other celebrity that has a fragerance do...DO COMMERCIAL ADS on tv and in magazines. once the product takes off then one won't have 2 do as many ads it's already a "household" name. i'm sure jlo doesn't need 2 do tv ads 2 sell her line of cosmetics. plain and simple, he's a very bad business man when it comes 2 promotion.

rolleyes I know how YOU dont like the hits and all, i dont want to get into that with you, but

But if new concert consisted of newer songs only, i honestly believe the venues would have to be much much smaller, which i wouldnt mind. As a long time fan, if even I a hardcore fan have reservations about a TRC-Jughead filled concert, imagine what the casual fan would think.

i feel he needs 2 go in2 smaller venues anyway so that he can promote his newer material fully. i've said it many times and will continue 2 do so, i don't pigeonhole an artist and if anything prince was the one 2 help me c that vision with releasing around the world in a day, so i will continue 2 voice out that if the casual fan didn't keep up with his work, then his hardcore fanbase shouldn't have 2 suffer paying the price of a ticket just 2 hear kiss, purple rain and countless others 4 the thousandth time.

All the things that Prince DOES NOT DO!!! Can you honestly see Prince playing in Malls? Shaking hands and talking with 'normal people'? And when was the last time you heard him do a radio interview? I reckon he'd think of this as lowering himself - I think he's waaay to proud/stuborn to do any of these things to sell anything that he's put his name to. I agree with the TV ad thing though...

Regardless, I think that it's time Prince crawled out from his own colon, kicked his shit into order and concenrated on important stuff, like er... putting out some decent music coz I'm sorry but PE sucked donkey balls (although I do love the Indigo Nights album)
I'm not stopping. I haven't even taken my coat off

C'mon and dance while you, while you still have your cherry babe, cherry babe..
