Great music writer. The only review of his I've seen archived that's been off was the '92 Symbol Album which he graded too low. Though then again, anything with those segues and Tony M. is going to garner an initial bad response from anyone other than the current drooling fams which seem to run rampant among Prince fandom.
No hard feelings.

Is there a reason those of us that have never heard of this guy should care what he thinks?

You must be joking. You have never heard of Jon Bream ? Do your homework. lol
He wrote Inside the Purple Reign ( no longer in print, Prince bought the publishing rights), he wrote a lot of articles on Prince, he is THE most well known writer when it comes to Prince right after Per Nielsen, and he´s been around since day one in Prince´s career.
Prince mentions him during the New Years Eve benefit concert at Paisley Park in 1987. He writes for the StarTribune, a Minneapolis based newspaper.
" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"
