Prince Sequel action!

Well, Purple Rain had a lousy sequel, continuing the story of the rivalry between the Kid and Mo'is. What if Prince decided to do a sequel to Under the Cherry Moon, or ANOTHER Purple Rain sequel, where he finally gets together with Apollonia and finds some alien crystal skulls or symbols or something?

Thrill me with your hollywood pitches for further Prince sequels! (And which albums would be the soundtracks?)

I'll get the ball rolling:

Purple Rain 3: The Vault. Prince-er-the Kid discovers that seven corners is just a computer-generated reality designed by record companies to keep musicians under control. He breaks out into the 'real world' by swallowing "My Little Pill", which is all cartoony, like the cover of Around the World in a Day. There he finds Apollonia in cryogenic suspension, but is knocked out by a goon ("When the Lights Go down"). When he awakes, he is put to work in a little room, churning out hits for Miley Cyrus. To add insult to injury, Michal B and Tommy B are playing for her gigs ("Old Friends for Sale")!! Eventually he escapes by impersonating a lobotomised roadie ("It's about that walk"). He thaws out Apollonia with a kiss and she speak to him ("She spoke to me"). They have a hot sex scene a la 9 1/2 weeks, but with all vegan products. Eventually he takes over the record companies' media outlets, liberating his music, but keeping all other bands in servitude to him!
At the end, it's the First Day of the Rest of His Life!

How about a brand new movie about a musician that found the philosoher's stone,
(I rock therefore I am) Hides the stone in a song, (Musicology) It's found by Tinkerbell, (She gave her angels) and then "Batman," steals the stone from "Tinkerbell," for the sake of a high-tech flying sex scene, and then Batman drives off in a Little Red Corvette into Orlando, (Peach) and the movie ends with a man disappering into a hat. How about that.

Ahhh, but that's many different albums, try to make a sequel to fit the songs on ONE album!

ROADHOUSE GARDEN
The easiest thing to do would be to plug in unreleased music
Have Graffiti Bridge just be a dream...like on the Dallas TV show
The Kid never quite makes it to the "big time" but has a son who he's raised as a single father. He helps his son get started in the music business and the son's career skyrockets almost instantly. Naturally the kid has conflicting feelings. There's an argument and the son goes to Morris for help. Morris swindles the kid out of all his money etc etc...Father and Son reunite and play together on a song at the end that revitalizes both of their careers.

All Day All Night
Purple Music
Electric Intercourse
Rebirth of the Flesh
Old Friends for Sale
In A Large Room with No Light
The Grand Progression
Roadhouse Garden

This clocks in under 45 minutes so will fit on an LP...
Purple Vinyl Anyone?

If Mr Nelson likes, I'm sure I can expand this a bit...

(I posted this way back last year, but it fits your thread real nice!)

The Bride of Under the Cherry Moon!

Dig it:

Tricky, obsessed with the untimely demise of his friend Christopher, has evicted all the tenants from his high-rise apartment complex in Miami, and turned it into a dark, spooky castle. He orders Katie (who never really had a mind of her own, anyway) out into the city to find a brain for Christopher's corpse, which Tricky has recently recovered through his nefarious underworld contacts.

Katie recovers the brain of (the also-recently-expired) Larry Graham, and brings it back to Tricky's spooky castle/laboratory. During a crashing storm of thunder and lightning (see, it ties into the Superbowl, see??), Chrisopher is brought back to life with a 'sea of electricity'.

Tricky cries, "Damn Chris, Damn! My man! You've returned". Chris croaks, "Shut up already, damn...", and rising from the table, takes his symbol guitar in his hand and groans, "I'm gonna kick me some Isaac Sharon ass." Then he shambles off for Nice, France (I don't know how he'll get there... maybe on a creaky old steamer boat, like in King Kong!).

But lo! Frustrated by a life of celibacy, the now-aged Mary Sharon has turned to a life of science as well, and has learned of the evil undead Christopher coming to lay the spooky smack down on her father. Does Dr. Mary Sharon destroy the abomination, cutting short its plan to murder a father that she, herself hates? Does she surrender to true love, justice, and the sight of Chris's reanimated butt in those sexy outfits?? Does Tricky allow her to take either course, or does he murder her first, so that he can once again have Christopher all to himself???

THRILLS!!!

CHILLS!!!

FRILLS!!!

Now this is a movie I wanna see!!! razz
