Maybe one of the most astute lyric prince ever wrote was "Ain't no sense in voting, same song with a different name" And it's just as true with Obama as it is about the last half-dozen selected controlled puppets. You're deluding yourself if you think otherwise...

It'll be a case of Obama the Farmer leading the Sheeple to the slaughterhouse...

And to compare obama with MLK is fucking retarded, insulting and clueless...

Why? They both black.

Uhm, MLK was a descendant of slaves and lived in a day when black people were legally segregated from white people. Obama has a Kenyan father and was only a kid in those days. MLK fought for years and years for equal rights. Obama fought for 2 years to become president.

One has to start somewhere. Even Martin had his roadblocks when he first started the movement. Anything is better than what we have been through these last few years.

A couple of other slight differences: 1) MLK was born and raised in the USA (as opposed to being born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia, making him ineligible to be president as stated in the Constitution, watch this space...); 2) MLK wasn't chosen by the CFR/Bilderbergs/Trilateral Commission as their next controlled puppet president...

But the thing is, you can't stop war by not voting either, it just means you are too afraid of having an opinion or you don't have a clue about politics.

In Prince's case it's different though, he is changing the world with his music (well, at least parts of it [us razz]) and not with a vote.

In a 1980-1 Musician magazine interview, Prince was quoted as sarcastically stating that Americans prefer Reagan to Carter because of his "bigger balls" and pro-war leanings. This quote was misinterpreted as being pro-Reagan.

Prince responded to this several years later in the lyrics to Paisley Park. "Whoever said that Elephants were stronger than mules."

I think P would not consider himself part of any political party. He's a true iconoclast, outsider and contrarian. Although, he has taken more Republicans to task (Reagan, Bush) in his lyrics (SOTT, War, Let's Work).

Probably the reason he has taken more republicans to task was that during his major period of recording there were only 8-10 years of Dems in the Oval Office and 18 Republicans. He sounded fairly pro-American when he released America in 1985, and that was during Reagan's term.

For people to say that all rich people vote republican is sort of naive. Of the
top 10 riches congress members, 7 out of them are Democrats (http://www.opensecrets.org/pfds/overview.php?type=W&cycle=2005&filter=C) and the top 5 riches Senators are ALL Democrats (http://www.opensecrets.org/pfds/overview.php?type=W&year=2007&filter=S)
so the rich being only Republican is just phrase used by people who haven't looked into the facts.

Personally, I like the fact that Prince rarely gets into politics. To me there is nothing worse than going to see a band that you love and having them spout something you disagree with from the stage. Madonna has been doing that on this tour and she sounds like a nutcase. People go to see Neil Young and expect to hear protest songs, I go to see Prince because I enjoy his music and performance.

I don't know if he voted for Obama. If he is tired of keeping all of his money, he may have done it, but I have never been very good at predicting Prince and he has stopped calling me and asking me for advice ever since I told him to wear those backless pants back in 91. Bad call on my part. Sorry man!

Pro-American (if that's how you interpret "America") does not mean he's a Republican.

Just because there have been more Republican presidential years during his career does not mean that he has to disagree with them.

The party breakdown of millionares in Congress has nothing to do with the voting tendencies of the American public.

And P rarely gets into traditional electoral politics but his whole legacy is political. He has explored race, gender, history, communalism, capitalism, power dynamics, environmentalism, war doctrine, peace, urban violence, sexism, sexuality, consumerism, media inequality, etc. in his music. His revolutionary social influence has been very political.

I do think the wealthier americans are more than likely to be republican because of the tax issues and how it affects them lol.

Here in California, I only tend to see republican bumper stickers during elections in the high end communities; I rarely meet any customers in those communities that are not very vocal republicans. Yes, these are only Inductive circumstantial generalizations but ..

Why don't most americans see that republican and democrat don't differ that much?
See the general list of foreign atrocities, domestic problems, political problems, monetary issues, etc, etc.
Does the list really change when a different (democrats versus republican) enters the white house?
No.

They're just two sides of the same coin.
You have more than enough problems to deal with; forget the democrat/republican issue.

The republican party is in trouble, right now its split in 2, the greedy rich that dont want to pay more taxes, and the dumb poor & ignorant in the midwest that cling to guns hate and religion, the Palin suporters.

The so-called fiscal conservatives, & the moral conservatives.

Here in California, fiscal conservatives live in nice places like Orange County, the moral conservatives live mostly in trailer homes

hmmm Prince just may be a republican!

I know he a JW so dont vote, but surely Barack is bigger than politics, he's in a similar vein with Martin Luther King. Everyone else has stood up for Barack, why not Prince? Is he scared that if Barack fails in any way, then he may be humiliated? Or is he soo busy making a new album that he aint noticed the elections.. or, is he a Republican.
Thoughts for and against this theory please.

Please dont move to politics, as this is about Prince.

Barack is bigger than politics how? Other than the race card, deemed so important to certain groups (and that is itself a fallacy, as he's not the nation's first black presidential hopeful as the media keeps fostering, but rather the first historic international multiculturist), they can take Gary Coleman for representation. I'd prefer the leader of the free world not needing on the job training whatever sex or ethnicity.

Good God we're f*cked.boxed

Martin Luther King , only similiarity race, very shallow and sad. feeling ill Notice I'm not talking about Obama's style or coolness, or oratory skills..... it has to do with character, experience, what he's done. B.O. was a community organizer here in Chicagoland. Let me explain: He was a rabble rouser who sought votes from felons and illegals from fraud front organs like ACORN. Wow, some comparison.

Prince is probably like the majority of the mainstream, consensous politic that is middle ground. Whereas the Dalai Bama believes and votes for infanticide, that is killing a living baby delivered after a botched abortion, the majority of the public doesn't agree.

Whereas the Dalai Bama doesn't believe that citizens should own guns, carry guns, any guns whatsoever including shotguns (this is his voting record and the panels he has been on), most Americans believe in the 2nd Amendment with some provisions.

Whereas the Dalai Bama wants national amnesty for illegal immigrants, the majority of Americans firmly disagree.

Whereas the Dalai Bama advocates gay marriage, the majority firmly disagree (voting in CA recently).

Whereas the Dalai Bama will promote grand welfare and dependancy, Prince is an individualist, self-dependant and the anti of these power schemes..

Likewise, Prince being an inclusive individual and accepting all races in his worldview and musical anectodes wouldn't agree with Barack Obama and family attending a church for 20 years listening to "US of KKK", and other noble prophetic sermons from the nutjob Jeremiah Wright.

Prince wouldn't share an office, chit chat and start his political career in the living room of fellow neighbor and anti-US domestic terrorist William Ayers and his wife Bernadine Dohrn, Prince understands the value of freedom and respects this country's establishments and basic principles enough to not associate with scum.

So if Prince is still JW, certain policies and beliefs of the Obamantion he'd surely stand against. I don't expect Prince to say anything in regards to individuals the media is in a frenzy about. He has a history of doing the opposite and doesn't worship idols.

And as far as the Dalai Bama, there are at least a dozen court proceedings going on around the country protesting his authenticity to enter the White House as he has yet released his long form birth certificate proving he was born in U.S. Sounds like conspiracy theorists on the prowl, I would agree, but you would think this country would require proof of eligibility from the get go? blackeye We shall see.
