The Dialogue...

Prince kinda sings these words..

I know what U want...A man so in love with U, He can't help but to flaut You....Deep down, I know what U want, U want Ur girlfriends to hate U cause they can't get Ur man.
When I listen to these words...I would never agree to wanting my girlfriends to hate me...I would hope that if I found love that was cut out for me...that friends would be happy, as they would be happy if they found the right guy.

"Future Baby Mama," is a beautiful song, and there's really a lot to talk about when it comes to breaking down some of the lines.

For Instance...What does Prince mean by, "They had me fooled 4 a minute."
Or "I've heard it said, that I won't treat U right."
Or "The thing that matters most is under the floor...a strong foundation, will last forevermore."
How do U interpret some of these lines?
~How do U fool Prince?
~How would Prince not treat U right?
~What's Under the floor?

Perhaps I'm mistaken.

He can't help but to flaunt --> I see this as a compliment that the woman he chooses is going to be arm candy and he'll enjoy showing her off cause she is that wonderful to be with

They had me fooled 4 a minute--> think that he means the other women he's been with fooled him into thinking they were the right one for him

I've heard it said, that I won't treat U right-->means that the woman he is madly in love with, ppl have said that he is going to play her and dog her out

The thing that matters most is under the floor...a strong foundation, will last forevermore--> this I see to mean that the woman has been there done that and has a good head on her shoulders, very secure in who she is and can offer that to the relationship...a strong background

Yes, I agree Cinnamon...Prince would want to flaunt love that was going to be there no matter what. Love is sweet as candy. I do believe that some of the more visual qualities a woman can have, can fool a man into believing that her love 4 him is as beautiful on the inside. Like they say...It's enough to get you onto the front porch of someone's heart...although there are rooms to explore.
I believe that Prince probably hears a lot of advice from his peers about relationships, ultimately it would be Prince's choice to make a decision about someone that He would love, and take it one day at a time, If Prince is happy, and treated with respect, I don't believe He would treat her with anything less.
Trust is what must be under the floor...A pilot has to trust that the co-pilot can take over if needed, before take-off.

I agree Tame, the very first time I heard this song, in my mind I'm thinking am definetly not attracted to the idea of trying to make anyone jealouse or hateful over a person. Being that my identity is in christ, how could I ever place that much importance on another, to try to create negative feelings like that.

"Strong foundation" that would be a funny name for a make-up line
Anyway I really like that line of the song, so true... it's what's under the surface that matters.

"I won't treat u right" - "Cause they don't know nothing about u".
Two things I came up with on this one:

1. He already knows a little something about her, in order to say no one else does, if that makes sense to anyone... does to me.

2. It is somone he knows very well, someone who has been hanging around him for some time.

And last: I have a problem with the thought of being flaunted, I am shy to some degree. I am a simple person, I do not entertain the idea of being put on display.If I exist on this earth, I only exist that's it...I exist for christ, and only for him.
