Like it. I guess many non-Prince fans would be very surprised how low he sings on this one. He really gets deep.

It's okay. I like some of the lyrics, but I think the music is a little on the boring side and I don't paticularly like Prince's low-end.

I , , this song! Oh it's the "I'm feeling very down today" song. Everytime I'm in the dumps it's one of the few sad Prince songs I play. It's a great song!! Sad, but great!

I've always loved this song - I loved hearing it back-to-back with Empty Room on the I'll Do Anything sessions before it was on The Vault.

I still liked it when The Vault came out, but by then I wasn't so in love with it. One of those songs I wish I hadn't heard before it was released.

And, having said that, I'm glad the version on The Vault was the same as the one I'd heard, and hadn't had anything altered/added (Sarah comes to mind).

I like this song very much.

I love it as well as all of you do.I have had many of these days to feel what he feels in this song.To me it's more than just a feeling of lonliness though it's that and so much more ...Perhaps a ball of confusion, hurt,disbelief,
and anger along with whatever other emotions you can add to that.. on top of the lonliness.Like he says..The way Cain felt when he slain his brother

This song is one of those songs that dont get played alot on my player but listening 2 it now it is a very basic song but that is what makes it work u can really feel the pain
it really is a great track gonna have 2 listen 2 it more often

I love that song. when I listen to it I have to keep it on repeat.

I like it- it's nice. I don't love it though. Perhaps if it was longer and had a crazy guitar filled bridge or something.

The whole Vault Lp is tight. Especially "When the Lights Go Down". Turn that song up upon it's intro on a nice system, the percussion alone of the congo's(??) will get make u cream.
Hell it's only a hand full of Prince tunes that I don't like (even much of NPS and Chaos and Dis). Most of them were on Graffiti Bridge and Gold.

I love the song. Favorite on the vault cd.

There's a certain kind of timelessness about this song for me.

Love it. First heard it when I was in a very lonely state. Sort of found comfort in it, like someone else understood how I felt. In away, that in itself was comforting.

How can u not like the song???
