Cartoon Based on Prince?

Hey Y'all!

Earlier this afternoon, I was watching A Goofy Movie on the Disney Channel ( I was babysitting) and I noticed that there was a cartoon rock star that Goofy's son Max wanted to see called Powerline.

At first, I thought the toon was based on Michael Jackson because it had a somewhat high voice and it did the Moonwalk alot but at the end of the movie I was convinced he was based on PRINCE.

Powerline gave a concert and was backed by two TWIN dancers (like the Twinz) in matching teeny outfits and one plumper, soul singer (like Rosie Gaines).

And I do know that the song Powerline sang was called "I 2 I" written the way Prince would write it and sung by Prince associated artist--Tevin Campbell!

What do you guys think?

I'm familiar with this movie, as I had to buy it for my kids back when it first came out. It was released in 1995... so, I can tell you without a doubt that it is NOT based on the Twinz, as they were olnly around a couple years ago.

The only Prince related person on this project was the voice of Powerline, who is Tevin Campbell.

In looking at it, it's definitely a MJ based character, and if you look closely at the movie, there's a scene where they're on the highway, and a limo drives by with a gloved hand waving out the tinted glass window.

Disney and Mike go waaaay back, so... I think it lies there.

Interesting. Disney has a lot to work with, if they based a cartoon on Prince...The artwork is the important thing... Not ridiculing Prince in any way, although we would expect it to be funny, as cartoons are...

U know what I mean? People's assumptions about Prince should not be highlighted...Prince's talent should be the concept. If any trait is highlighted it should be Prince's arrogance, that we all know has justification. cool
