I should say something about "The Everlasting Now." This song, as well as the entire "Rainbow Children," concept is genius...because the song affirm Heaven on Earth...I very much believe in that...The song grabs Heaven and sets it here for us...so the song is also very generous and conscious of what the world needs. cool

Genius worthy songs (based on my 20 years of being a fan):

1) Something in the Water (does not compute)--cold & detached in emotion, but completely funky as hell.

2)Computer Blue-Excellent guitar work and once again, funky. IMO the best track on PR.

3) Kiss-Minimalist funk at it finest. Laid down the blueprint for the Neptunes sound.

4) Starfish & Coffee-Quirky, but unlike anything he did prior.

5)Lovesexy (album)-a little bit of everything meshed together in regards to texture, but great message album without being too preachy
"Old man's gotta be the old man. Fish has got to be the fish."

Its not bad, but its weighed down in excessive voice dubs and over the top sound effects and it just sounds like the rest of symbol, Hideously overproduced

if i had a dollar 4 everytime someone claims they think a song is "overproduced" without them being a record producer themselves ..i would b a millionare by now

I'm not a producer but I'd say the difference we all talk about (and you know it too) would be something like the White Stripes compared to Madonna. Perhaps both have been produced heavily to achieve their sound (whatever that means) but the final difference is that one sound comes across warts and all whilst the other is devoid of imperfection.

Of course that doesn't mean to say one is better than the other or that either suits one's particular taste.
