ONA Live Box Set

MARKETING IN PLACE:

Major newspapers and magazines have received a promotional copy of the
ONA
box set and many have responded to doing reviews on the box set.


Prince and the NPG will do a performance on Jay Leno on December 13th
(release date of the CD) to promote the box set. Negotiation for a
morning show performance is also in the works.


NPG Records will be doing a snipe and street promotion campaign in New
York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, Toronto and London throughout the
month
of December.

Footage of Prince & the NPG has been sent to MTV News, Access
Hollywood,
Reuters Hollywood, Extra and E! Entertainment Television to do a
segment
promoting the ONA box set at the beginning of December.

If this is true then Prince needs to be on EVERY show he can think of. Prince invading the airwaves in December. That would be a great way to end the year.

the box set released on a friday?

Surely he cant release it on a friday, the standard release for cd's is on Tuesday. It seems like Dec. 17th would be a good time.. if he was wise, he would release it on the 10th... thats a good start before Christmas, thus giving more sales towards it.. especially if places like Best Buy run a excellent sale on it.. 24.99? that sounds good to me. Hey, even if eye was a very casual fan, eye'd probably consider pickin it up for that cost.

Hopefully, it will generate interest in the TRC album as well...isn't it qualified for the Grammy's next year??? I hope it gets nominated for Album of the Year...

It will be interesting and quite amusing to see how the mainstream media responds to ONA Live. They've written Prince off so many times as being over and irrelevant. And from the few snippets I've heard of this, plus the tour and the Celebration, it's clear Prince is at the top of his game musically. This will prove once and for all that most mainstream media critics don't have a clue when it comes to Prince.
ONA Live is gonna be monumental. The mainstream press can continue to chase MJ around, waiting for him to drop his baby out a window. If they want to view a REAL musical genius, they better recognize Prince. Cause this brother is the real deal.

Well, I still would say that it's not really probable that the set will really be released on that date. Too soon.
Anyway, IF this is true, then our sets SHOULD arrive this coming week.

well they emailed me last night and said that the ONA Live! box set for members have actually been shipped, so next week people should be recieving them, if they are being honest..
