Has anyone seen this performace? Its ace!!!

Anyway-does anyone know what it says on his face? I'm pretty sure it doesn't say slave, infact it looks like 2 words.

Any ideas?

Yeah, I saw this performance a couple of weeks ago, too. Love it. In fact, I love that whole 1993-1995 era.

he rubbed & smeared tht writing up at the end, now we'll never know..
but he was clearly throwing a wobbler & looks like he was performing a spooky ritual, with candles, screamin in2 his hands, damage 2 property & monk like dress!
drinking blood from a severed chicken head wouldn't have looked outta place.
his eyes were looking bewtiful tho

I won't repeat what i previously wrote, but i clearly remember that show.

They made a Prince Special show, which had never been done before on that program. TYhe reason is that Prince had never performed lived on french TV for a French Channel.
He performed 1 song, but the host they the day after that he was supposed to play 2 songs...at least! The reason why he never went back onstage was that he was pissed off that the message on his cheek couldn't be readable. he went backstage right after the performance to see the perfomrance on a tv screen.

Then he left. Everyone was screaming to have him back.

In 1998, he got interviewed in a french music mag (rock n' folk) : the journalist asked him the words on his cheek : "meshell's idol".
Then the journalist asked : can we consider that a tribute to meshell ? he replied : "it can't be clearer".

the 45 minute + tape of rehearsal footage for the broadcast is pretty tasty 2 ....

i've always wondered what it said on his cheek, tho it's blurry from the provided pics, i wonder really if it said "acknowledge me". in the rehearsals he did do that song so i wonder if he wrote it on his face just 4 the occasion.
