Is Prince the highest falsetto 'pop' singer?

Just wondering...i can only really think of Justin Hawkins, Freddie Mercury and maybe that bunch of crap Mika who are good at falsetto and actually got some chart hits...any others?
I think Justin Hawkins would be the only one out of those who could compare to P but not sure who would win in a falsetto fight?
P.S. yes, i am bored!

You must not know shit about singing because Freddie Merciry wasn't a "falsetto" singer. He used his "full voice" most of the time. Even when he used falsetto I wouldn't say he would be thought of as one of the "highest falsetto singers" He could and hit notes with his "full voice" higher than most people can in falsetto. Thank you.

I'd say it's a toss between Terrence Trent D'Arby and El DeBarge. I made the mistake of listening to both of them with headphones on. My ears were RINGING from the high notes. shake Shouldn't be natural for a man to get his voice that high unless his nads are being stomped on. shake

Wow, I can't believe I've been lurking here for so long, and the first post I make is here! smile

I'd say Philip Bailey of Earth Wind & Fire has/had an amazing falsetto. Some of the live versions of Fantasy are mindblowing!

Prince can go pretty high but I don't think he's the highest.
Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U.

He probably does have the highest falsetto lol

My favorite artist b4 him (still is my favorite tease ) has a great falsetto, but at least I can reach that range.

Prince's falsetto goes beyond my range lol so I would have to say yeah. Though I really don't know much for falsettos lol

I think Michael is putting on when he does all that shy speaking stuff. I heard him talk during a concert once... eek man got a deep voice on him. shake Kinda surprised me!

I'm still putting in for El DeBarge...whistle

Not many R&B/funk listeners here huh. I'm not listing in any order past or present. Most of these guys have had Pop success. A few better.. a few right there... but all were/are good.

Luther Vandros
Phillip Bailey (Earth Wind and Fire)
Ronald Isley (The Isley Brothers)
Eddie Kendricks (The Temptations)
Michael Jackson
Al Green
Pharell
Maxwell
Al B. Sure
Babyface
Ralph Tresvant (New Edition)

In classic R&B.... singing falsetto was very common place. ot as much now a days... but there still exist a few peeps who try.

I don't think any of those can do it higher than Prince though, like that climatic moment in Do Me Baby. Maybe Philip Bailey, or Michael Jackson (only when he squealed that Mariah like note at MSG in 2001).
