It's very very gay. I don't mean like 'dude that is sooooo gay', but gay in the gayest sense. It's a bunch of highly airbrushed glamour shots. But I think you have to think of Prince's intended audience. The book, and lackluster 'live' CD that came with it are for fans who wish to complete their Prince collections--the type of fan who probably own all his bootlegs, videos, and othere merchandise. This wasn't meant for serious musicians, music lovers, or the general wider audience. That being said, the book looked sooooo gay. U obviously aren't one who thinks gay is a good thing and use the word as an insult. Are U wearing a cow suit? Now that's totally NOT gay, thank God!  It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

I have been here since 1999 and I have left and come back Many times because of this nonsense.. we ALL respect and enjoy Prince and his art..But..some of us also dont live in closed boxes where anything and everything someone does is the "end all be all" just because that person is doing it... Even the material I don't really like I have a sort of fondness for. I understand that I don't have to love everything he's done to be a fan. In fact, I think it's healthier as a fan to allow yourself to be honestly and respectfully critical when you know something isn't up to par, rather than behaving as if he's second in line to God. Prince may have a big ego, but even he, if he's at all honest with himself, would probably balk at some of the behaviour shown by the more enthusiastic among us. Full Disclsure: I started my music listener career as a Backstreet Boys fan, and I still support them. So I came across this sort of interesting fan behaviour fairly early on in life, and learned quickly that this was not a healthy way to behave or think about an idol, no matter who they are. There were enough previews of this book for people to know what they were about to spend their money on. Yeah, everyone's entitled to opinions and all that shit, but going on and on about how it "sucks" etc, is like walking into a supermarket taking a free sample of shit on a stick, buying a box of it and complaining about it after you get home and eat it. Enjoy the cd (or not), or keep it till it goes out of print and sell it later on. It's not rocket science people. | |
