she totally nailed it. She is seriously fine, Spanish too just like he likes em!. She has a hell of a voice, but what a dick is Simon?, typical of the music industry he wants to pidgeon hole people so expects her to do a latin type number every week!.

was dreading it coz i thought she was gonna kill it! but i thought that was amazing....she did it justice, ithink that is a really hard song to sing, well done to her!

I love her, if I voted on these things she would get mine. I was ready to be pissed off cause normally they throw off these kind of people and let those sappy girl bands go through.
She did it brilliantly, the start was a bit quiet I thought she would need an echoy mic for the verses but omg she did it amazingly. My favourite on the show now fa sho!

I thought it was really ironic that she chose to sing Purple Rain at the end of an MJ covers show! I thought she did it brilliantly too, she really nailed the 'passion' of it! I was wondering who was going to attempt the guitar solo though

I also thought 'Girl Band' were better than 'Girls Aloud' ..and did you see Seal talking on the ITV2 show? Very cool, seems like a nice guy!

She was great! All the MJ songs on the show except maybe 2 were absolute pants. They always choose the worst possible songs for the admittedly untalented contestants, but Ruth actually had some passion there for Purple Rain. Loved it.

Girlband deservedly went, but I thought silly Irish teenager and Laura were the worst.

Prince suing Simon Cowell, that'd be great!!

I thought she did a great job - it's a tough song for anyone to sing and she put a lot of passion into it. I went from not thinking she was not that great to thinking she was bloody brilliant!

(Choosing a Prince song of course helped changed my opinion of her)

I'm sorry but i think that she absolutely crucified it, superb voice but absolute tripe. Beginning of song very weak and over the top ending.

I was really surprised to hear Purple Rain being sung by someone else, didn't think they would be allowed.

She did it well, I was expecting a lot worse because I hadn't seen the show.

I almost fainted when she said Purple Rain. I agree, on a Michael Jackson show it was very apt.

I thought she was great, but then I'm biased given the source material - she really impressed everyone I think and it was good to see Danni shaking her head to it.

I love hearing Prince material, let alone on national telly..makes my heart beat faster every time!

I've a feeling that bare-footed pixie might win, something bout her.

This is not an easy song to cover, and I was very surprised, great version! (Not that I would watch the show under normal circumsatnces, but someone tipped me off that there was a Prince cover).

...and just spotted that Purple Rain is no.50 on UK itunes tonight which has to be the Xfactor factor!

The only track higher from the show is Chris Cornells version of Billie Jean, other MJ tracks are also around but lower down the listing

mj nite & the show was won with a prince number..
started off really lame & thought she was about 2 murder it
but she was brave enuff 2 give it some welly...
the passion was very impressive, she was lost somewhere 4 a moment..
did anyone else notice how she was clutching her throat afterwards? maybe she overdid it..
i can't see her winning his thing, but very cool 2 hear some prince!
