Will The Real Prince Fans Please Stand UP? lol After something that was jokingly said over in GD, something about many people on the org being considered NOT real Prince fans..Im wondering
What exactly IS the criteria for being a "real" Prince Fan? Is there some test u are supposed to take to determine such a thing Or do u just have to be crazy and blind to anything but the color purple and have a pancahunt for men in high heels (which could also possibly make this the Tim Curry fansite () PRINCE IS WATCHING U " When an Artist Creates, whatever they create belongs to society"

There aren't. Some people jus think they are better fans cuz they got more material or have more promo's. To me, it is all about the music and somewhat about the style.

You mean penchant, right? It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

If you're critical of Prince in any manner, however small, then you are not a fan.
I've bought the book, four old vinyl albums (eBay) and obtained Electric Intercourse in the last month. However I have made the mistake of stating that Prince (in my opinion) does not a great guitar soloist make. Therefore I am not a fan. And I should burn in a non-purple hell. Aren't some people in the world complete and utter wankers?

Why would anyone be bothered about what others think of their 'purple status'?
If someone berates me once again for not jumping around with purple banners and post something that is not positive about Prince, I got alot of people of this forum over me for not being a 'true' fan, which clearly means that you should like everything Prince does, which is just too silly for words. So I just let them. Bullocks to them.

Blind faith (is there any other?) is a dangerous thing Chilli. We are despised at the Org for having freedom of thought.

Blind drunk? It's only kids that argue about levels of fanaticism. The same ones that argue that a PS3 is better than a 360 and all that malarky. At least I hope it is otherwise we have some very under-developed adults in here [Edited 10/15/08 4:52am]

I'm sure that guitar players or other musicians can have constructive criticism that is welcomed.
If u are not a musician, as I am not, I believe that anytime throughout your life, if someone asks u what kind of music do u like...If u are a fan, Prince's name comes up. Ya know what I mean. If u are a fan, Prince's name is never omitted from that answer. "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

By that I refer to the bootleg. Not some weird Gary Numan sex game involving jump leads, testicles and a three pin plug.

Prince has been giving fans (referred to as friends) what they want for so very long...raunchy they want? raunchy they get...hump the stage? sure u'll get that too - even jackin off his guitar and make it ejaculate!...ballads? why not?...funk? funkadelic sure!...can he split? oh hell yea!!! .....
NOW, at 50+, can Prince please do him? HE wants go on this journey with Jehovah, HE wanna relax and just make music like HE'S always been doing, just not the way most people will like it. Most people expect him to stick to his 80s style, those people are delusional and need to face reality. If so-called supporters are gonna be lost because of the turn-around, sobeit. He loves his true supporters anyway, but some ppl just cross the line! If you're a true supporter then why bash him for making a positive step in life? If it's causing u a problem, then thas yo problem... solve YOUR problem! Peace I swear the words "HATER" is wayyy over-rated...smh

hamster..and the jai ..damn y'all r speaking some truth up in here
not everything prince does is golden and we should all have the right 2 say what we like and or dislike without being thrown 2 the fire 4 not liking everything. the flip side is that those that do like everything get crucified as well.. so where is the balance? man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

You know, being a 'fan' is a funny thing, Chilli.I mean firstly(and in all honesty),your definition of real fan and mine are probably gonna be soooo different....
Maybe real fans have stack heels(or optional flipflops and socks!!),twins on either arm, love symbol #1+#2 on chains, a list of every bootleg,7",12" vhs,cd and dvd they've got on a laminated list in their wallet(which gets pulled out to top other fans you meet). What do ya reckon? Fanatic:
a person with an obsessive interest in and enthusiasm for something. Fan: a person who has a strong interest in, or admiration for, a particular sport, art form, or famous person. That is where the difference lies. Obsessive: preoccupy or fill the mind of (someone) continually, intrusively, and to a troubling extent. Interest: the quality of exciting curiosity or holding the attention. One allows clear unhindered thought, the other leaves no room for rationale. One allows for the freedom to evaluate a subject and praise or criticise it, whilst the other sees people enslaved and controlled, either by theirself or others. So Will The Real Free Men and Women Please Stand Up? [Edited 10/16/08 2:05am]
