Happy 1st birthday The Rainbow Children

Nov 20, 2001 - The Rainbow Children CD released in retail.

A year to the day, and still it's consistently in my CD player. No other Prince album has grown on me in the way TRC has - it's an amazing album.

I can't wait to hear his next 'real' album (ie. not piano, live, instrumental). So come on, Prince, what's next?

A true Prince Masterpiece. It has single handedly rejuvinated my belief in Prince. So much poor material has been released over the last couple of years that I needed this one badly.
I'll not be foolish enough to be writing him off again.

Considering that "TRC" was complete by the second celebration and most of the "One Nite Alone" album was recorded in 2000 Prince has not given us any new music in a long time. I wonder what he has been doing?

Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

I've never written him off, because I knew what he was capable of. Even with all the by-the-numbers, lazy songs he released over the last decade. Prince had just about taken me through the gamut of emotions regarding his talent: he can be either the most frustrating musician on the planet, then turn around and remind me why I believe he's the most gifted of his generation.
This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

I´ll never forget the first time I listened to this album the in my room. And yes, it has been a year already. I´ve listened to this record the whole year long and it´s easily one of my favourite Prince-albums. I was so glad to hear him back in form. Can´t wait for the box-set!

Lovemachine said it right. This has really been around for almost 2 and a half years. Prince please give us something else, Iam so sick of this.
What's so great about She Loves me for me and the Mellow song and Muse to the Pharoh?, not to mention the voice before every song? These three songs on this cd is some of the most blah stuff that Prince has ever released.

After he releases the live album I hope it doesn't take him another 2 years to give us something new.

Fantastic music? For sure.

But the lyrics were never gonna allow the album a broader audience. A real shame. It deserved a much better fate.
