ICNTTPOYM Jazz?? It sounds like pop dance rock or even the 80's last stand for new wave. That song could be a Go Go's outtake. The balled of dorthy parker and starfish and coffe are closer to jazz.

classic album. Most honest album he's ever made.

Lovesexy is the best album ever made, I still hear new things, every song is great (except maybe for When 2 r in love but that's very good at least) and that album is the number one reason why Prince is the greatest. There can never be enough praise for that album and it should be listened to on headphones. I hate the one track: it only limits your possibilities. People who want to listen to the album as a whole still could do that very easily when it would have had 9 tracks so how can anyone be glad for a limitation of possibilities?

When you think of Classic Prince albums, Lovesexy has got to be on the list. I didn't get it when I first got it in 88, I was 9 but when I got it again 3 years ago, it was like hearing it with a set of new ears. It would be tops for me if it wasn't for it being one track but that doesn't kill the quality of the album for me. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Lovesexy is pure love, positivity and joy.
It's an uplifting album, with great songs. Anna Stesia is one of my favorite Prince songs. [This message was edited Thu Nov 21 20:02:40 PST 2002 by MrBarazani]

Don't even go there...
Lovesexy is a classic 4 sure. The songs are all witty and complex, yet simple. That's part of Prince's magic. It may not be a commercial smash or be one of his best (in ur opinion), but I think the majority will be against u on this one. He was tapping in2 something spiritual..it was his journey. His awakening 2 something. In some cases he awakened others by releasing it. Love it or hate it, but Lovesexy it is...and Lovesexy it will remain. (PS-could u have done any better?)

I don't consider Lovesexy his absolute best album, but its far from his worst.
The music he put out between 87 and 88 always sounded the most unique to me. Also, if you haven't seen the Lovesexy tour and/or heard the extended versions from this album, you're in for a treat.

Only Rainbow could compete with Lvesexy for me which is the best of the best, "la crème de la crème"... Like rainbow I cannot divide any songs into any category...that's called concept album... I agree. I bought "Lovesexy" the day it came out and I STILL don't really rate it - mind you, after "Sign OTT", ANYTHING would have been a disappointment.[/quote] The album grew on me. It took the tour to really set the album off(Memphis, Nov. 88).In the top 7 Prince albums. If the album stopped with I WISH U HEAVEN it could rank higher.

This is the only album that I like every song. SO I guess it is a classic in my opinion. The runner up is Grafitti Bridge. If it wasn't for Elephant and Flowers... _________________________________________

ure kidding me right?
The Lovesexy era was one of Princes best ever. The album was unbelievable, the image, the clothes and who could 4get the band. Please dont tell me u dont miss Sheila E and Eric playin up the funk at its best? And the tour? Wow, eye believe it was the greatest show in music history, even though eye wasnt able 2 witness it in the flesh, nothing eye have seen up until now compares 2 it. Peace. If ure radio aint on the FUNK, then ure radio aint on!!!

Lovesexy is an incredible album...definitely not pop, but the masterpiece of a musical creative genius.
It obviously didn't fare well in the US...but I understand that in the UK it went to #1. Anna Stesia is one of his best songs EVER. That song alone makes the album worthwhile. By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!

Ummm... Lovesexy is a concept album, the concept being all the songs equal one song, one theme, one statement. Thus, you can't divide it into portions when listening to it. You either get the vibe from front to back or you don't. That is why a lot of people didn't understand this album, because they don't know the meaning behind it and what Prince was trying to do. Remember, he didn't want to release any singles or make any videos he just wanted the album to exist as one piece of work. With that said, Lovesexy is definitely a classic and unique work. Prince did a good job expressing himself on that record.
