WTF? That's the same response I get from non-Prince fans after I tell them I'm a Prince fan and after they insist on singing one of these songs. None of these songs made me like Prince. It was the  album that made me love the man. I will say that I like the 'Raspberry Beret' video...I just push the mute button when I watch it.Prince Rogers Nelson

When I first heard "I would die 4 u," it honestly was unlike anything I'd heard before. I would have LOVED more of it, so I wasn't too crazy about "Baby I'm a Star" (after seeing him in the movie with these songs, I love 'em both). But "Little Red Corvette" was and always will be one of my favorites And I prefer the original cut/album version  Because with the Dance mix, the key is changed and doesn't quite hit me the same way as this does. My first day coming in2 his complex world, this was the first video I looked it and the way he totally owned that stage it was like the first time I saw him dance in the movie.
1999, I understand your reasons  but it was another first for me as well. My first exposure to him EVER was when my dad played this video for us on the year 1999 (or maybe the year b4, I forget). Something about the sound is my definition of the artist Prince

My whole thing is that "hate" is such a strong word. I would think there are P songs that are 10x worse than LRC or 1999. I, however, see ur point about certain songs taking on a new light and you enjoy them differently. Like you, I never cared for "Other Side of the Pillow" on The Truth, but I LOVE the live version he played during the ONA show. I have pulled out the cd of The Truth several times, and cannot get into most of it. I still wouldn't say that I "hate" it, I just don't care for it. people are looking for the shock value by putting dwon Prince's best work THE 80's. I CNTTPOYM is solid musically with an arrangement that hooks you in right away. THE CROSS is a solid song!! Animal Kingdom the rest I truly Hate but not to a close degree AT ALL to how much I hate the first one. Chocolate Invasion version of The Dance High United States of Division Last Heart Make Yo Mamma Happy(I'm sure it's there, but I don't see the reason this song has anything to do with Sly & The Family Stone.) Cybersingle Work That Fat Avalance(whatever...I just plain ol' hate it) Hypno Paradise Beautiful Loved & Blessed(This song had NO business being on an album of a person of the MALE persuasion) Magnificent ...well...maybe not Magnificient... ...I'm sure there's more...but I cant remember them right now...which also leads me to believe I might not truly hate them....cuz I would deffinately remember if I hated them....who knows. | |

When I first heard it, it was simply amazing to me. The only problem I sort have with it is in the 2nd verse where he brings the electric guitar into it. I LOVE the way he played piano in this song and wished he would stick with it. Probably one of my favorite outtakes that he's ever done. I LISTEN FOR 30 SECS AND SKIP. NOT FEELING IT.

jughead is horrible. the tony m. parts are always cringe inducing 2 listen 2. most of his 90's output were half-baked ideas and seemed rushed 2 an extent. I want him2 do another concept album in the vibe of lovesexy or TRC. I just want him 2 challenge himself again. I want Prince 2 write songs from his heart and and soul. I miss those bellowed screams from his gut. from his 1999 days. He used to write songs from pain such as Empty room and so on. I'm a big fan if Moonbeam Levels and Old friends 4 sale. He'll never release those songs as they are because of the JW bullshit. I feel prince flipped out amd lost his mind since becoming a JW. I miss his fuck you this is what i'm all about days of yore.
