Prince And The Ilona Necklace Last year was the first time I saw the "Ilona Necklace"(Gold tone ethnic style bib plate necklace with multi-shaped and sized panels connected by gold links. Necklace fastens at back of neck with clasp.) that Prince was wearing in the Chelsea Rodgers video. I really thought it was a unique work of art!
Last night I was talking with a friend about his NYC concert from Friday night and we were looking at the photos from that night. I mentioned the necklace and I said part of it looks like two moon faces,maybe I'm crazy. My friend said you are not crazy it is moon faces. Then she said the original necklace has been altered. I looked at it and I thought it was just worn backwards at first as I couldn't get the image to flip properly in my mind at first. But after a few minutes I was able to see that the bottom halves of the moon have been changed to go in the same direction as the top part of the moon. This of course looks much better than the original design. I also noticed that the bottom panel had been removed. My friend suggested that it might have been removed so that it didn't scratch his guitar,which makes sense. 
At that point we also looked at the photograph in the 21 Nights book of the necklace which still shows the original design. Which means that the necklace was most likely revised after the London shows and photo shoot. Anyways I definitely like the revised design of the necklace much better.   [Edited 10/12/08 20:42pm] | |

He also wears the necklace under his coat in the SHOE video... I've only seen the silver one.....until the NY show...that was gold right?.
It's sorta weird but I like it there.....the way he has a tendency to stir things up (voting statements and all) It protects his heart (it's more in the middle of your chest actually). I hope that thing is made of titanium....  | |
