The Depth, definately...I also love the mandolin(is it this instrument?) solo.
The Lyrics... So what is the answer 2 the question of u what do I look 4, what shall I do? Which way do I turn when I'm feeling lost? if I sell my soul, now what will it cost? Must I become naked? No image at all? Shall I remain upright? Or get down and crawl? All of the questions in my life will be answered when I decide which road 2 choose what is the answer 2 the question of u?

The Question of You and Joy in Repetition are like Strange Relationship and Could never take the place of your man.
They're deep lyrically. Listening to them stirs the emotions of...well...every relationship experience. They make you question God and your own purpose. I hate it when these songs end. It feels like somebody smacked me into reality. _________________________________________

I just really listened to the song this week after having this album forever and for the first time this song kicked my ass. Imagine if this song had been released as a single. This song is an example as to why Prince is so incredible. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Exactly. I get the same feeling. I was trying to read some mail the other day, and this song came on. I couldn't even concentrate on anything but the song. I had to snap myself out of The ? of U at least 2 times. Also, some songs, especially the ? of U, produce crazy visuals. I find myself seeing movies inside my head. It's weird. There's a portion of ? of U that makes me think of over-worked circus elephants every time. I have to remind myself that it's a love song, because it just sounds like a full length carnival drama to me.

Ohhh!
The Question of U...The way he played it at the Bataclan, I'm still shivering. Yes.

Does anybody know when/where the version that's on the last Ahdio Show was taped? That version is amazing! He doesn't even sing all the words, just goes off into an incredible guitar solo, like he couldn't say what he felt in words, just had to translate it to music...
This song makes the top ten list in my book every time! I've gone to find myself. If I should return before I get back, keep me here.

this track was playe at the Manchester 8sept soundcheck. He sat at his piano playing the chords and improvising freely. he gave the nod to his band and they jammed on it. then prince casually strolls over across the stage, stops momentarily, places his finger on his lip as to express 'Hmm, should i? and then he did it, he picked up his guitar. When i saw what he was doing a whispered to my accompanyoing friend (a non prince fan) "prepare to be converted". then, prince just blasts into the most beautiful guitar solo that i have ever heard. the audience of 100 + people just went crazy. after the song had finished, my friend turned to me as white as a ghost and with eyes like a rabbits in a cars headlights and simply said to me "fuck".
he summed it up, when the question of u plays, u just gotta give yourself up to its power. what more can u say about the melody, the lyrics, that solo? "fuck" indeed. You do as I say

The $59.99 price tag.
Prince 'nuff said. "So strange that no one stayed at the end of the Parade..." - Wendy & Lisa's "Song About" on their 1987 self-titled album.

That's a brilliant anecdote right there. Whoever listens to 'The Question Of U' and fails to be captivated by its yearning baroque beauty better check their pulse cos they're probably dead... .
