21 Days anywhere in the United States? In this economy?

It's at the right price, but I don't see the profit there for him.

He's better off doing a 3121 Tour

3 night in Detroit

1 night in East Lansing

2 nights in Chicago

1 night in Peoria

3 nights in New York

1 night in Philly

2 nights in DC

1 night in Baltimore

etc..

Lansing is a really good idea. It's a college town, the capital city....central to all of Mich; Detroit, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Jackson, Flint, 4-5 hours to Canada, 4-5 hours to Chicago, ummmm have I forgotten someone???? We have colleges in every direction... and we have Interlochen!!! .... lol oops I forgot Ann Arbor...sorry I'm a Spartan it wasn't on purpose. lol

Now that I'd like to see!!! biggrin

me too!

Smaller venues, easy to sell out even if the younger generation wasn't really keen on Prince... the concert would sell out. That in itself would create buzz and some kids from college would go because of the buzz etc. Then they would get exposed to Prince LIVE which is something you have to experience yoursefl. This would introduce younger kids to the Prince experience.

Yup, that sounds like a grand idea.

Not that this isn't a good idea--but I don't see colleges shelling out the kind of money Prince is used to for him to perform. . .and you certainly can't sell tickets to college students at his usual prices.

datdude

of course i'd check out P if he comes to The D. but i concur that the economy is too bad right now, it wouldn't sellout by far. but this is all a pipe dream anyway

btw whoever posted that shit about "whichever part of Detroit is safe", get a CLUE and quit getting your information from one-sided news sources or paranoid suburbanites who never come to the city. if P, played it'd be in a major venue downtown and studies have shown that downtown detroit is as safe or safer than the downtowns of NY, Boston, and Chicago. like PE said over a decade ago, don't believe the hype.

P.S. Is Detroit Safe???? What rock do you live under??? NY, LA, Chig, Miami ect ect I would be more worried about than Detroit. Every city has bad spots but, Detroit is a fun happening place with a lot to do. Ford Field is in a GREAT area with a lot of happening things right there. I love that area. Bring it on Prince and see what Detroit can do for you.

Proof Detroit needs someone to co-sign that the bad rap is just not happn'in.

I'll get my relatives in Grosse Pointe to let us have a house party like in L.A. and just let Prince strut it for a night or two over there.... just for those scared fans.... lol

I thought the OP priced the tickets at $31.21.

I think Pirnce is one to loook at the bigger picture. After all, he gave away CD at concert then later in a newspaper. I think he can have the foresight to see that a smaller paying gig that leads to new fan base might be worthwhile.

He didn't just give away the CDs in the newspaper. I believe he was paid a large sum first? And he wouldn't play a college just on ticket sales alone. He'd have to be paid--just like other speakers and big name entertainers that come to colleges. I may be wrong, but I'm sure that's why he hasn't done it already, colleges don't have that kind of money (well, maybe Harvard does!)

And--by the way--I would LOVE him to play Ford Field for *any* amount of nights! But then again, I actually prefer seeing him at smaller venues. When he was here at the Opera House, that was FABULOUS!

Detroit isn't scary, its mostly deserted and Prince playing there will certainly give a boost to the economy. Wouldn't it be dreamy if he played at the Fox? Now Flint, I lived in downtown Flint for a few months and that place is warzonish.

Opulent, beautiful, easy to park. The sound in there is superb.

I woke up this morning thinking 'Prince should play the Fox!' Must been a dream. Ofcourse prior to that I was dreaming about being at a powwow and being the only white white person there and getting sick of telling my fellow natives that I am a tiny bit less then 1/2 Cherokee. Im just Casper white.

Anyways, back to the Fox. I saw Tori Amos there (among many other shows) and it was intimate and a beautiful experience.
Love wins. (Seen on bumpersticker)
