The part that always gives me chills: the Purple Rain performance, when they show him playing the Hohner -- then the lights go down and pan to Wendy -- and when the lights come back up he's playing the White Cloud.

Not to mention the solo on that Cloud. I miss that guitar tone sooooo much. It was articulate and sweet, and his vibrato back then was amazing. It reminded me a lot of Brian May's.

Thanks for airing this.

I definitely had a good time listening to it. I love hearing all of those songs live.
"The Beautiful Ones" was just incredible touched

and of course I always love hearing "Computer Blue", live or not.

Then Purple Rain, the guitar solo really was something. He doesn't quite do that anymore, singing the whole song and playing guitar for that amount of time.

A lot of great music and it was cool hearing some of the songs from 1999 sprinkled in as well as "Temptation" which probably premiered during this tour. I heard it was written b4 Purple Rain finished along with a couple other songs, but I didn't know he did it on tour also cool
had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

Thanks for that little tidbit cool

All I heard was that he had recorded three songs for that album b4 Purple Rain was finished shooting.
Raspberry Beret, Temptation and one other... Paisley Park, but I could be wrong on that shrug

You learn something new everyday cool

I totally dig Queen, I miss Freddie. Bohemian Rhapsody is one of my favorite things to play on my piano.....until you hit those guitar solos....man, you have to have fast fingers for those (really a blast to play actually)....a very emotional song to play even just on a piano...

I was...17...

I was 14...lol...There weren't any video screens, at least not at the concert I went too. I saw it April 1, 1985(after a few songs he said "thank you, good night...April Fools!) I think it was either a day after or a day before they filmed that in Syracuse. He played a little bit of Around the World In A day also. I think that album was released that same month.

I didn't think they had video screens at the Orange Bowl .... I would have been paying attention instead of listening to very very distorted music from where I was and watching "ants" on the stage..... lol
