MR. GOODNITE star zzz

Mister, mister,
Love U mister

Come on

[Chorus:]
Call Mr Goodnight
He'll make U feel alright
Make U throw Ur head back and holla
So nice, so nice
Better not tell Ur girlfriend
U can try with all Ur might
Just can't keep a secret
'Bout goodnight, goodnight

Hey, baby, hey baby, hey, baby, sitting all alone in my courtyard
Lookin' as if U have every right
All over the world they call me Prince
But U can call me Mr Goodnight

Surely the dandies that escort U places
Imparted a rumour or 2
About the parade of lovely faces
That follow me ... surely they do?

What say U 2 that, lips so inviting
It's all I can do not 2 stare
What say U 2 them, past, present and future
That U don't care (I don't care)

If so, U'll be the first, and I'll give u the keys
2 the whip of Ur dreams, alright?
All over the world they call me Prince (yeah)
But U can call me Mr Goodnight

[Chorus]

Now I don't wanna put to U 2 sleep with a bunch of chatter
And a rap that really don't matter
But now that U know who I am U need 2 make plans
And all Ur other pennies should scatter (scatter)

A limousine about 2 pick U up
And then took U 2 a private jet (2 fine) (yeah)
And then U gonna meet a little Spanish man
Who will offer U wine and Moet

In an hour or 2, U'll be taken to a suite
That will rock all Ur wildest dreams
And on the bed 3 dresses 2 choose 1, pick 1
Then U get a call from me (ring)

Tell me which dress U chose
So I can put on, put on my matching suit
All the real guys hold Ur hands up
U know how Mr Goodnight do it

[Chorus]

I love U baby
I don't want nobody else

Call Mr Goodnight (U can call him) (any time at all)
Call Mr Goodnight (yeah, yeah, yeah) (I love U mister)

MP3: Mike Philly in the band like jams at midnight
Before the main attraction U'll see
Slow it down somewhere here on Earth
Just 2 check how ur reaction be

And if ur heartbeat goes up a notch or 2
There ain't no telling what I might do
I got a mind full of good intentions
And a mouth full of raisenets (better not tell U)

We can watch 'Chocolat' on the big screen
Before we convene in the pool (yeah)
The waterfall'll wash Ur cares away
Already I love U, I do

[Chorus]

The energy in this field's been known to flicker lights, aye
A slip O' me with no rest, acapella moans and a break of sighs (goodnight) (call, call)
Undeterred nevertheless a masterpiece on butterscotch thighs (call, call)
Turn off the lights, turn off the lights
It's time for Mr Goodnight. cloud9
eye wish U were here baby, on me--
Stuck like glue! heart

Tastes differ, but Mr Goodnight is a CLEAR example of the sort of music that has kept my faith in Prince down since the middle of the nineties.

Mediocre songwriting, boring arrangement, a bland R&B sound, and annoying lyrics for a 50 yo.

To put it simple: nothing to be proud of for Prince, one of his worst songs ever.

Funny how you expect your opinion to be treated nicely as you diss ours in the same sentence.

Why visit a thread titled "i LIKE Mr Goodnight" if you don't?

PE is going 2 grow on a lot of people in due time.

I remember hating TRC. I put it away after the first listening and never played it again. After joining the org., I would hear everyone talking about this cd. I gave it a few more tries, still didn’t like it. One day walking and this big smile appeared on my face. It was one of the best highs I have ever felt behind some music. (This also happened with Chaos and Disorders) I couldn’t believe how this cd made me feel. I felt good all over. I even had pep in my step as I walked. It has become one of my favorite cd's. I find it very up-lifting.

Mr. Goodnight makes me feel that way. I love how it flows from The One U Wanna C 2 Mr. Goodnight then it flows right in2 the Grammy Winning Masterpiece, Future Baby Mama. "Oh yea" Mr. Goodnight diffidently makes me feel alright just listening 2 it, now I can continue 2 dream of such a thing really happening lol

I've just found out what constitutes good music. As long as Tremolina loves it, it's good. Tremolina hates it and anyone else who likes it is clueless about music. How humble of you Tremolina.

This clearly depends on how you're defining "rap". Optimus, if you are referring to rap/hip hop music, then no -- from day one that song has never come across to me the least bit like rap or hip hop music. There were R'n'B artists that did this kind of thing years before rap/hip hop music reared its head. Talking and rhyming is not automatically defined as rap/hip hop music. It would be far different if we were trying to claim that Jughead was not rap. That would be a pretty hard one to defend. I will say by dictionary definition, what P is doing in Mr. G is "rapping" to the girl (talk or chat in an easy or familiar manner), BUT that does not make it rap/hip hop music. That would be like saying Barry White was a rapper.

I'm really not sure why you're getting so upset about this. You do realize that other people have opinions too. Just because you insist that Mr. G is rap/hip hop doesn't mean that everyone else should agree. I did say that he is "rapping" to the girl. I'll agree with that much. But that does not mean the song fits into the rap/hip hop genre in any way, shape or form. P has said that he sees Irresistible Bitch as being an early form of him rapping. That still doesn't make that song fit into the rap/hip hop genre by any means. It seems that we're clearly going to disagree on this topic no matter what is said. No big deal. I'll still enjoy the song.
