Howeva, eye think 'masterpiece on butterscotch thighs' could b an allusion 2 his fingers circling/tracing around 'butterscotch' coloured thighs in the way a painter does with his brush when creating a masterpiece. Sometimes I don't know how to break down Prince's exact meanings, I just always know it's some kind of 4-play sugar butter talk even though pie rhymes with thigh, maybe Prince has read more Shakespeare than we realize.
