The following albums were growers for me and I've inducted the ones I had the hardest time with:
Controversy (had me after 2nd listen) 1999 Sign o' the Times (disc I) (took me a little time, not much) Diamonds & Pearls (came off as so-so, but now I see the beauty of it as a whole, give or take a couple of tracks  )
 (so many songs, so little time... after I skipped a couple of songs, it slowly became one of my favorites)
Come (didnt quite get it, but I knew it had potential) The Gold Experience (still fight with it every now and then, but listened to it today and loved it) NewPower Soul (took me a long time, but even with some tracks taken out of the line-up, it only has a couple of high points: "The One" and "Come on" among 3-4 others) Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic (first listen left me confused so I shelved it until a time when I set aside a week to listen to that album exclusively, it had me after the 2nd and 3rd listens... now I find it very enjoyable) Musicology (left me cold on the first listen cuz it didnt say "Prince", but then again, it was my first Prince album EVER took me a while to appreciate its message)
and of course, The Rainbow Children... but I'm not sure if I want to let that one grow on me  had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone | |
