I'm not sure, Christmas is around the corner and that can help sales. Today's economy is hurting everybody. The Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame's owner filed Chapter 11 after a hard summer.

Yes I do. The pre-orders on Amazon/UK are already sold out, and this book will be available around the world. Prince is loved in Europe. We don't hear as much about him here in the states. But this book will do very well. [Edited 9/30/08 6:07am]

i really can't see this doing well. Money's tight for most folks now and unless you are a die hard fan then why on earth would you buy it?. I assume the projected sales figure of 500k units is based on die hard fans buying it?. If sold at £15.00 per unit the gross would be £7.5m. I suspect he's made another £1m + out of this project.

I don't think so. Oversized books, gift books, and the like have a hard time finding a home on the list since they don't always get categorized as hardcover nonfiction. And if they don't go there, where else would they go on any of the NTY bestseller lists? Plus, I doubt the book is even being carried by Costco or Sam's Club and probably won't be in all of the B&Ns. I think it will sell fine through online and specialty outlets, though.
