Many unreleased tracks are hoarded. They will fall thru the cracks because one of the hoarders will take the $$$ thousands.

I've never heard any of these songs before but I've heard of Cosmic Day. They sound like they are cool songs and I'd love to hear them one day.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Doesn't the vocal melody of Big House sound like Emancipation the falsetto's are similar in both songs as well, even the 1st line of both songs have the little baby line, and both mention being free.

I thought the exact same thing.

Big House is a grower.

Its good to see these tracks being spread far and wide over the net and easily obtainable . After all the hinting people have done about them over the years I did wonder if people would try and keep them to themselves but nope , maybe prince fans are united after all smile

Some of them sound unfinished. some sound like demos.

All of them sound better than many tracks that actually made it on to his last 3 albums. lol

But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U.

Cosmic Day - recorded November 1986

Definately not finished. The synth kickdrum leadin reminds me of Moonbeam Levels, and the quick hard guitar reminds me of the Vanity/Appolonia/Bangles style of hard girl rock.

Everybody Want What They Don't Got - recorded July 1986

This song COULD go over on the radio now. Not as a huge hit, but a lot of pop/rock bands were utilizing hard piano chords as a form of percussion the past few years. Kind of Beatles sounding, I can see that. This has the potential to go nowhere quick, but I imagine a change up comes later in the song. Upbeat Chicago-esque (Saturday in the Park) style that would sound nice while taking a nice walk. Layered vocal chorus, quick, tight, synth horns accenting the breaks.

Adonis & Bathsheba - recorded July 1986

Slow love meets Crucial. And it's not a Pretty Mess. More like a Hot Tranny Mess. It sounds like he put ALOT of effort into the production of this song. It's like a slow song that's supposed to be upbeat, and sexy... but isn't.

Hard To Get - recorded 1981

THE PERFECT BRIDGE between his Rebels/Dirty Mind guitar synth and his Controversy/1999 period. This needs to be redone again, gently updated. Sounds a lot like what kids are starting to put out the past year or so. He can't let this opportunity go by.

Big House - recorded mid/late 1988

Tevin? Wake up, son. PSYCHE! How many ways can u work the P? LOL That's all I hear when I listen to this song. Except, this one is in falsetto, and is sung, rather than rapped.

Traffic Jam - recorded February 1984

More Time/Vanity than anything. I would have expected to hear this on a Andre ymone or Jessie Johnson cd. Hot Minneapolis flavored Funk.

Go - recorded August 1985

I LOVE how sad this song is. A cleaned up studio version of the rehersal that most people have a few copies of now. He sounds so desparate. And the girls singing background on this just... It's such a throwback. Such good memories of the post-Purple rain era.

Come on now. prince.org isn't a good resource for gaining the material, it's for discussing the material. smile

If you can't figure it out, then just wait a good while and you'll start seeing new CDs featuring 2 or 3 of the songs on the bootleg market. Eventually, they'll all come out in full form. And from what I understand, a large chunk of the "30 songs" are still very selectively traded among a small group of people.
