Prince covering Sweet Thing I really like it when Princes covers Sweet Thing (Chaka Khan song) He did it also on that Musicology Programme and i do hope he releases it on one of his future albums cuz i think he does a really good job and its obvious he loves the track
P.S has he ever recorded it in a studio or is it on any bootlegs? Everybody's looking 4 the ladder

At the Vegas aftershow on 2/9/07, Shelby sang Sweet Thing. During the second verse, she came over and took my hand - and we sang it together. Definitely one of the coolest things that's ever happened to me at a Prince show. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

There does exist a studio recording of the song and it is from very early on in princes career. Seek the geeks for more detailed info.

very It was. Put the icing on a totally mind-blowing cake. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Im not sure if the version you are talking about is actually a studio recording but more like he recorded it straight to a tape recorder. Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

It would mean pulling out Testament to get a date on it. Im sure Boris or the like could give everybody here the specifics they require.

i like when p does this song . i've been digging on his 2006 (?) bet awards performance, where yolanda adams sings the song and p comes in at the end with a soaring solo . For all time I am with you, you are with me.
