To a certain degree, yes. But compared to many other artists I think he's managed to sustain high quality better than most.

Most artists' Prime are from 25-30. It comes with aging.

Michael Jordan's past his prime, but that doesn't mean he's not the greatest to ever play his sport!!!

I think Prince has grown into an adult just fine, I think he's still "Mo Funky" than 99% of the 50 year olds in the world..

I think his albums are still high quality, the live show hasn't gone down hill and he still knows how to keep us all coming to this site looking for the latest news and tidbits..

in terms of commercial appeal, maybe he's past his prime but in terms of still being relevent.. nope..

No. In fact, he's become more proficient in the art of music, production, entertainment, etc., that has only improved his work. One has to be open to listening in the present and making their determination based on what is before them at that moment. It is true that at such a young age he was gifted with talent beyond compare but even then, one takes those gifts and builds upon them which is what he appears to have done.

Prince just isn't 1985 Prince, which was a Prime foundation for the maturing wisdom of an artist that is a man with his Prime fuel still within him.

Just because U can't jump off of a Piano anymore doesn't mean U can't play it better.
