Dylan just gets better, Prince gets worse.

If he's getting worse, why do you still deal with Prince? Why not go to bobdylan.org? Just silly.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

THE PROBLEM WITH PRINCE NOWADAYS IS HIS MUSIC IS NOTHING LIKE HIS EARLY ALBUMS WHICH WE ALL LOVED. THE OLDER SONGS ARE SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE OVERPRODUCED JUNK HES BEEN PRODUCING. WHAT WAS HIS LAST BIG BILLBOARD OR UNDERGROUND HIT I DONT EVEN KNOW?

Not all of his early albums were great..i really didn't care for Lovesexy...i think planet earth is better. I must say the man should take a vacation for awhile

what he released to radio could have just been a demo version, like the initial version of "guitar" he released online way before planet earth came out. shrug

nah!, the live version and radio version are too close. Alas that's as good as it's gonna get. confused

and you could well be right. but we weren't given any indication that the original "guitar" download single was anything except for a supposedly final version. we had no reason to believe otherwise.

do other big shots get such a hard time from their fans?

lol lol

I think there´s quite a bit of brilliance on his last 3 albums.
Certainly enough to stand among his classic earlier works.

It's a fun song.

It's like get back on the boat and do the the work cause you act like you're possessed on the good foot.

No, it's just that you're stuck in the past and still want the Prince of the 80s. This is 2008. You either deal with the new Prince music or you don't...simple as that, the choice is yours.

true nuff.

obviously we're gonna like what we like and dislike what we dislike, but it doesn't mean prince should be a tribute band of his former selves.

2 bad he's not receiving that message himself otherwise he would stop this greatest hits/cover band routine shit he's been stuck on since 2004
man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Another thing: I keep reading interviews where Prince plays a song for a reporter and says something like, "It's too good, they won't get that, I can't release it."

Freaking release it, Prince. WTF?

That's just marketing - I wouldn't believe the "can't release it" part. Saying that just makes people more anxious to buy it.

Something similar would be when he said that Emancipation was "the album he was born to make".

Leave the weak James Brown rehashes to the bar bands, dude. You used to be capable of so much better than this. Will you ever again focus on songwriting?
Prince used to be Sexy MF, now he should be called Lazy MF. Dude, is way too overconfident these days.

U must be lacking in the taste department.

This song is boring. Sounds like some rehashed pseudo-funk-sounding revolting garbage that should have remained in the vault. I'm sorry to all those that are offended by this, but it's just my opinion. I hated it when he performed it on Jay Leno. It was really corny. Sounding too much like Everlasting Now and Musicology (You know the cookie-cutter Old Man's Tired PHONK he's been shelling out in his latest material within the broad catalog).
This sig is just a fig of your imago-neigh-shun
