you're saying Prince's personal life has personal value to us? I don't agree with that... what he does on stage is all we should be concerned with and I don't believe he owes his fans anything concerning his personal life....I think painful events that happened in his life are off limits, folks shouldn't discuss that, yeah, there are times we will discuss what 'flavor of the month' chick he's dating, but even with that, there should be some limits... as a public figure, he entertains us with his talent and music and. that's where it ends...

The personal life of the Holographic Prince has personal meaning to me. For me the appreciation of art must include insight into its creator, the artist.
It's not a simplistic view. To say, "just love what's on stage!" is too simplistic and false. Art by nature inspires within us a sense of violent personal reaction and then ownership and the artist is not removed from that. Once we click with art we strive to make it personally ours ... to possess it. No one's talking about him "owing" us that possession. We'll get it; it's just organic. We're not demanding. Whatever behaviors and secrets filter out into the public conscience become a part of the Hologram and the Hologram is ours for the owning, the taking, the mulling, & even mawling!...it's distinct for the artist and yet IS him. Fame and worship are bizarre psychological things! [Edited 9/28/08 10:13am]

He must have dropped his notes during the interview in the latest article...."I just show up at peoples houses out of nowhere with a bible....and they are shocked??? ...and that doesn't give them license to chase me down the street!!" that's not a direct quote....but something to that degree...all I can say is "It is to laugh"
