Yeah, me too. It was a bit out of place. It would have worked better if he started with news reports/reviews of the shows at the beginning. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

it is what it is, and i think it's rather fitting for the book
and well... at least Prince is having fun he always makes us feel like we're on the outside looking in, doesn't he? not sure what happened to his true artistry and musical passion not saying he doesn't play well but these days his live performances come off as more masturbatory than anything (i.e. excessively self-absorbed or self-indulgent) not that i didn't enjoy watching but now i kinda feel dirty because of it

maybe i missed a post, but no-one has mentioned the CD's version of Alphabet Street yet. I liked it, what about everyone else? This is what it's like in the dream factory...

Indigo Nights is the Shhh... aw U know
would have liked 2 see more material released from this tour but it is definitely a good companion 2 the 21 NIGHTS book... Prince did a good job of combining parts of 2 of the nights 2gether one 1 CD though... Prince / 4ever... Peace P4TM

I absolutely love it beginning to end although I could do without the ah ah part in "girls and boys"

I loved the CD, from the hornz, Prince's sense of humour (Just Like U) to Shelby J's 'Misty Blue', it's a great reminder of the Aftershows, and until he comes back to UK, I'm going to play it! "Fun, now there's a word..."

A couple of near misses (Shelby, etc) but on the whole a grower and a real winner. I loved the one night alone....aftershow disc, this is not quite as good or maybe its just a different musical direction. very funky tho, so glad it came with the book, what amazing value for £13!

I forced myself to listen to it again today.
It sucks even more now than the last time I heard it. I'm going to have to shelve this thing cause if I don't, I'll start enjoying Ashley Simpson albums more. Not sure why though. I thought the "O2" bootleg albums released earlier this summer were really good.

U don't have to like it but to term it a poor decision makes no sense. Obviously Prince can only satisfy himself because for every 100 fans there are 100 different decisions they would have made. The self-centeredness of the fans is really a problem.

There are a few moments of fine musicianship, as Prince and his band are, if nothing else, fine musicians, but the constant riffing, the failed attempts to connect with the audience, the nonsensical meandering, the lack of quality songs -- even if they're only riffed on -- torpedo this release deep beneath the sea of relevance. Dig it up at your own risk. C- No hard feelings.

I actually thought you were joking about the fan comments when I first read that. But just now, my CD played to the end for the first time, and there are the fan comments. They feel completely wrong being there - I really can't understand the need for them. Also, isn't there a Jack Nicholson vocal sample from Batman right at the end there? - which I thought wasn't possible because of licensing (which is why Batdance etc isn't on any of the hits collections).

Uh ? I attented three aftershows at the Indigo, one of them being the 21st and let me tell you something : there was no failed attempts to connect witht he audience. The audience was going nuts in there. You probably one of those people who love live cds where the audience is louder thn the music itself. And regarding the lack of quality songs, I really think this comment was one of the most hilarious crap I've ever read here.

I was at work this afternoon, and listening to the radio (WPLJ - big station) and in the span of about an hour, I heard TWO (different) commercials for 21 Nights.
I guess the Marketing people are really pushing this thing. By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!

A lot of the aftershows included the most fantastic tunes played in the most fantastic way to a fantastic crowd. Indigo Nights seems to have been made up of some of the more mediocre songs, played well but without being able to hear much of the audience's "awe" (for want of a better word). For those of us lucky enough to attend more than one aftershow (I did 7 ), the CD is missing the best of the best which is a disappointment... Still... it is easily the best part of the 21 Nights book! We ain't from Hollywood, so you know it's all good
