Satisfied...oh help me...those screams...I'm a...a...need a minute to collect myself. OK, I'm cool now! Rock Steady is FUNKY.... DigMeNow looks at the clock how many more hours before I can go out and buy this. Oh snap my mother just woke up and came into my office and started dancing to Rock Steady!! I already know who is going to be asking me for this cd! Well if you like Prince live...you are going to this cd. I hear pumpkin pancakes callin' me...

Then I guess "Turn Me Loose" is from the new album next year? The "Turn Me Loose" release may follow the 3121 pattern. A Fall single, a winter single, Spring album, summer tour, etc. I could use a new Prince album right now. Yep, I need a new coaster (My PE CDs are all ruined) another persons rubbish is others treasure

Oh Misty BluuuuuE!!!!! LOL. Come on... two tracks that aren't even from Prince, and the entire middle of the disc isn't even music. It's Prince speaking. What was he thinking? Put some SONGS on this cd! I Like It There... Empty Room... Chaos and Disorder... Misty Blue?! Why, why why? This is just terrible, terrible CD and prime example numero uno why ALL PRINCE FANS SHOULD SEEK OUT BOOTLEGS. That's the only way you're going to get the true, complete, honest experience. And that is sad. "Don't you think one of the charms of marriage is that it makes deception a necessity for both parties?"

To all these comments about the band not being goog enough, not playing well enough, "no "wow" moments... For fuck's sake, what the fuck do you know about music cuz if you did, if you were musicians, you would hear the amazing tighness of this band, you would hear the great musicianship displauyed by every single member of this band. And regarding the sound... What do you prefer some live recording totally reaaranged in a studio, with every single defect erased or a the real thing coming straight from the soundboard ? I prefer when there is no cheating. Of course this cd is not the best Prince aftershow ever but it represents very well what the aftershows were all about last year. Many of you need to move away from Prince music. You guys have listened to his music so much, you collect so many bootlegs that you cannot appreciate anyhting coming from him anymore. I personnally very rarely listen to Prince's music throughout the year and when something like this live cd comes up it makes me appreciate his music a hell a lot more than if I had scrutinised every single aftershow on bootlegs. I even read above that this cd had "shitty music" on it. That's really scary to be so dumb. I've listened to every after show from this tour. And the fact is that the "official" CD does not include many, many of the songs that he played and the only way to hear it as it truly went down is to seek out the unreleased material. The "official" CD is not a good representation of what the after shows were like, and instead feels choppy, sloppy, and fake. Many of the songs are 1-2 minute spoken parts, and two more songs are not even by sung by Prince! The track list is completely absurd. Nobody is doubting that Prince is a great musician. However, his selections for his studio and live albums leave *A LOT* to be desired. They are substandard at best. I attended 4 aftershows and apart from the power trio night, this cd is a good representation of "indigo nights". I saw lot of Beverly and Shelby. If Prince had released the Power trio stuff, the funk fans would ahve been bored to death. There is no way, absolutely no way Prince can satisfy all of his fans as the diversity of the stuff he plays is just too much to be left on one cd of 76 mn. And btw I cannot listen to these crap bootlegs anymore (I get only soundboard sound ones i.e Copenhagen 2002). I listened to all the aftershows on bootlegs and most of them are unbearable on a good sound system. So yeah, I'm really happy to have this Indigo Nights Cd even though it's obviopusly not the best aftershow you can dream of from Prince. Peace.

I do agree with you about the bad soundquality of bootlegs but come on, this tracklist is a joke. Is it too much to ask for a few "Prince" songs instead of a bunch of cover versions sung by his backing singers ? I mean, he could have put Empty Room on this one, or Shhh, or Anotherloverholenyohead, or ....or ....or whatever, he played tons of great music in London, and then he releases this collection of songs, and I use the term "songs" generously here, instead of giving those who were not there a glimpse of what the experience was about ? Not only is he insulting the intelligence of his listeners but he is also insulting himself and his legacy and his reputation as one of the best live musicians on Earth. Do you really think that this CD contains the right collection of songs to give people an idea of what "21 Nites in London" was about ? I don´t think that orgers like lspears76 are hating on Prince, on the contrary, a lot of old school fans really know what he´s capable of , and it´s sad for all of us to see how this man messes up and doesn´t really deliver the kind of material he is capable of delivering. It´s not like he can´t , we all know how easily he could if he really tried but , with releases like this, I have to wonder if he´s got a clue at all. This is probably the first and only official CD by Prince that I will not buy, enough is enough.I will wait til I find this at a second hand store or in the bargain bin. I don´t think that those who follow him blindly are doing him any favor. Some of those who swallow everything only encourage him to relase more bullshit. It´s sad to see that a bunch of bootleggers know much better how to release a proper product. At the O2 and during aftershows, I complained a few times about how much room Prince was giving to Shelby, the twins etc When I listen to this cd, it's exactly the feeling I had back then. Sometimes too many people on stage, a bit messay but always joyfull and entertaining. To me Prince was on top guitar wise last year but he has not played his best aftershows in London. I have seen far better ones in the past.

Greetings all true Prince Fams! I felt compelled to respond to the opinions of the 21 Nights CD. Thank you for the early feedback....must appreciated!
Being a lover of all this man's work since 1979 I know there are times when I absolutely love a particular song and someone else hates it. Rest assured I will be at the store tomorrow at 12 noon to pick up 21 Nights as I do with all Prince's work. Can't wait to hear "The One" which in my opinion is his best love song. Miss you Mayte! Prince goes above and beyond to give his fans what no other artist has or probably ever will. Creativity, Multi-media outlets, Food for Thought, Sexyness, Love of God and Booty shaking-feel goodness and so much more. EVERY YEAR mind you. Please don't let him think it is not appreciated and in my case needed. Every year my life changes and I need some Prince to help me through. Have a great week! ThankUPrince!

The first two tracks make it seem as if it's going to be a killer live cd. After Girls & Boys, the entire CD goes to sh*t. It makes the after shows look like the worst ticket in town. But if you listen to the real shows, that's not the case. This CD is a huge slap in the face. Why waste two tracks on Shelby, release Whole Lotta Love without lyrics, and take up valuable space with "spoken" interludes about tampons? Put some actual SONGS on the disc! This CD is the worst live CD I've ever heard from any artist.Phil Collins is funkier and more of a musician than Prince! The thing is, in 10, 20 years or more when Prince is gone and somebody hears about the legend that was Prince, and they decide to seek out a recorded/released live cd to judge for themselves the live experience - will they be satisfied?...
Seriously, think about. This and ONA-live being all a person has to judge his live vibe by... Wasted opportunity, no? Enhancing a legacy, or trashing it? Get the point?... . [Edited 9/29/08 21:38pm]

Anxiety said: this is par for the course when prince puts out something new.
you have one extreme group who will defend anything prince does and takes criticism of his work as a personal offense. you have another extreme group who will razz anything prince does and condemn it for not sounding like glory-days WB material. then you have that struggling squeak in the middle - those people who actually do try to keep their famdom in check and who try their best to listen with an objective ear. you can usually identify these people, because they often temper their comments with a positive AND a negative, as they're not out from the get-go to worship or condemn the music just because prince created it. i think criticism is fine, even if you find you don't like the album very much at all. like huey said earlier, there are different types of fans. some like earlier work. some like more recent work. some like the stuff in the middle. some like prince's rock sounds. some like his soul sounds. some just want funk. i could go on and on about "specialized" prince fans, cuz there are dozens of varieties out there...and hey, if they get what they want from what they appreciate in prince, then god bless 'em. my general view of criticism is that other people's opinions - even "professional" critics - should be taken with a grain of salt. the only person's opinion that matters in the end is your own. everyone's different. just because someone takes something in differently than you do doesn't make them wrong or you right. you're just different people. maybe in some of these comments you'll find some kindred sensibilities. maybe not. it's interesting to read other people's reflections, and it shouldn't be taken as anything more crucial than that. there are bigger things in the world to stress over, y'know? Your logical thinking will not be tolerated here!! Knee jerk reactions, famisms, and flaming posts only!! (Insert something clever here)
