The Truth I just started listening to this album again...
I remember when it first came out I wasn't all that impressed, but (as w/ alot of Prince stuff from the 1990's) like fine wine it has turned into a masterpiece. What a beautiful, simple, but brilliant album. Twelve tracks that flow with one another and show one vibe - something we haven't seen recently in a while. "3rd Eye" is stripped down acoustic funk. "Circle of Amour" is beautiful. "The Truth" is Prince blues at its best. All of the songs make you FEEL something, it's, I think, the most intimate Prince album to-date. And my favorite part: it was never even released on its own so it's literally like a hidden gem. | |

my favorite tracks r fascination, circle of amore, the truth, don't play me, welcome 2 the dawn and the other side of the pillow man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81 | |
