CONTROL ISSUES I’ve been thinking about this for awhile but haven’t posted anything about it… But I’d be curious to read other people’s opinions so I thought I’d share my thoughts – Be gentle
Because I’ve been wondering lately if he’s becoming everything he hated about the industry. The control issues, in my opinion, reek of major label (dare I say, “Disney-esque”) actions. And I understand that people ARE like pendulums and sometimes when you’ve been stuck over on the left for so long, when you DO break free you end up crashing all the way to the right before you (hopefully) end up nicely snug in center. It’s like being picked on when you were a kid in school; you have a choice to make when that happens: Do you remember what it was like to get called names (or whatever) and NEVER do it to someone else, or do you get angry and decide to take it out on the next weaker person? So this is what I’m wondering: His experience with Warner and their money grubbing totally sucks (most of the major labels suck for artists, we all know this). I’m just wondering, do you think, since he’s left Warner, he represents himself as someone who’s been enlightened from the experience? I suppose you can guess my opinion, but I’m curious what others think. [Edited 9/22/08 10:26am] I can stop whenever I want! You don't believe me? Well, if you're such a good listener, why don't you watch this?!

i would venture 2 say that he became very enlightned and spread the word 2 other artists either in the business already, or trying 2 get in2 what 2 look out 4 so that one can keep as much of their artist rights 2 themselves. i would like 2 think that since he got free, he was able 2 make songs that makes him happy instead of a corporate machine and image. just wish the brother would truly FREE the music upon his fans man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Am I the only one who saw this and thought it was about the way Prince treated his girlfriends?
I'm a brickhead. I love a Man who:
Wears More Make Up Than Me. Wears Four Inch Stilleto Boots. Changes His Name To An Unpronouncable Symbol. Who Changes His Name Back From An Unpronouncable Symbol. Oh And Most Importantly, Who Is Sexy Little Drop Of Butterscotch

Don't be so hard on yourself....you're not alone.
The girlfriend/wife issues are ongoing..... Let's see....should one person be allowed to have total control in a relationship? Art is the illusion of spontaneity.

Well after all he did learn almost everything he knew about the business from Warners whether good or bad, it would stand that he may have become what he hated most. A lot of people do without even realizing it. He now is to his fans what Warner bros. was to him.

But, has he really been that way all along. I left projects because he had no frredom and took tht exact freedom away from others
