Thriller totally changed the game. Period. As far as performance and entertainment value and high quality and just plain old fashion magic....it can't be beat.It's not about folks liking Michael or not...but in my opinion, it's the best music video ever. Now when I see someone top that, then cool. But I just haven't witnessed that yet. Again, someone can believe Like A Prayer is the best video ever. That's cool too. At the end of the day, it's just all opinions anyway. Mine included.

If any video that has been out for less than three years showed up on the list, then that should tell you where MTV's sensibilities lie. Think about it. Kids think that the latest greatest is the greatest ever. What do rap stars on BET do when they do their favorite 25 vids? They put their own latest video in at the top spot.

lets face ir prince has never made good videos, mostly band shots or wild mad stuff that are still ultimately band shots like gett off etc. the few he did do well are hardly shown, i dont think he gets the whole video thing really and didnt buy into it as a way of communictaing his music, for so many artistes its the ONLY thing that sells their music.

MTV an others rely on the video streaming and less on the quality of the music.

This thread is classic Fanatical nonsense. I know this is a fan site but some of you take the term Fan a bit too literally. I think the top ten list is pretty much what you might expect the general public to choose.

Why anyone would expect one of Prince's videos to be among the top 10 I simply can't fathom. All his videos are completely lame and void of any originality. They are usually him, in front of a crap quality blue screen, with a guitar, doing a bit of a wiggle.

I'm surprised sledge hammer wasn't in there as that was always pretty highly regarded and an iconic vid in it's day, but I guess showing it's age now.

Well i for one like his videos, jeez they're not that bad, alot of them are fun to watch... i can name plenty that are better than rio, which is just a bunch of posers on a boat.
